Big news for young people in Bexhill! From Monday 20 July we will be offering the new NHS Meningitis B (MenB) vaccination service here at Sidley Pharmacy.

MenB vaccination helps protect against meningitis and sepsis caused by meningococcal group B bacteria, infections which can develop very quickly and can be life threatening.

You may be eligible for a free two dose course on the NHS if you:
🔹 are aged 17 or 18 (born between 1 September 2007 and 31 August 2008)
🔹 are starting university for the first time this autumn and are under 25
🔹 are moving into eligible residential further education accommodation for the first time this autumn and are under 25
A couple of important things to know.

Appointments are made through the NHS National Booking Service rather than directly with the pharmacy, and because vaccine stock is supplied to us by the NHS, appointments are offered on a first come, first served basis. We would encourage you to book as early as you can using the link below. Appointments are updated regularly so keep checking.

Not eligible for the NHS service? You can still protect yourself. We offer a private MenB vaccination service with two doses needed to complete the course.

If you are heading off to university or college in September, getting vaccinated before term starts is strongly recommended. The two doses are given at least 28 days apart, so the earlier you have your first one the better.

🌸 Bank Holiday Reminder 🌸

To avoid running out of medication:

🎄 Christmas & New Year Opening Hours 🎄

As we head into the festive season, we’d like to keep you updated on our opening hours.

Please note, we will be closed on UK Bank Holidays only:

• Christmas Day – Thursday 25th December
• Boxing Day – Friday 26th December
• New Year’s Day – Thursday 1st January

If you need prescriptions, vaccinations, ear microsuction or travel health services during December, we recommend planning ahead where possible to avoid delays around the bank holidays.
