💻➡️🩺 Did you know nearly all of our courses can be delivered using Blended Learning?
For busy businesses, finding time for staff training can be difficult. That’s where blended learning offers the perfect solution.
Blended training allows delegates to:
✔ Complete part of their learning online at a time that suits them
✔ Then attend a shorter classroom session focused on the practical, hands-on elements
✔ Spend less time away from work while still gaining the full qualification
This flexible approach is ideal for organisations that want high-quality training without the disruption of long classroom days.
At KMG Training, our experienced instructors ensure that the practical sessions remain engaging, interactive and confidence-building.

🚑 Train with people who’ve actually done the job.

At KMG Training, we do things differently.

We don’t use first aid trainers who’ve only ever learned from a textbook or sat in a classroom. Every single one of our trainers is a frontline medical professional — people who deal with real emergencies, real patients, and real pressure every single day.

🚑 Experienced Frontline ambulance service staff.
🏥 Clinicians working in hospital environments

This means your training isn’t just theory — it’s built on real-world experience, practical insight, and the kind of knowledge that can genuinely make a difference when it matters most.

✅ Learn what actually works in real emergencies
✅ Ask questions to people who’ve been there
✅ Build confidence with practical, honest guidance

Because when it comes to first aid…
experience isn’t optional — it’s essential.

What a fantastic day out with a brilliant group of outdoor instructors! 🌿

Today, KMG Training delivered an Emergency First Aid at Work course with some bespoke additional modules tailored specifically to the demands of working in the great outdoors. And let’s be honest… when you’re training outdoor instructors, there’s only one way to do it — you take it outside! 🌧️🌲

We got hands-on, scenario-based, and yes… a little muddy along the way! Exactly how it should be.

This session is just one of three courses we’ve delivered this week, supporting a wide range of clients — from local car garages to watersports facilities. It’s been a busy (and rewarding!) week helping people build confidence and life-saving skills across different industries.

If you or your team need First Aid training — whether standard or tailored to your environment — we’d love to help.

🚑 The First Few Minutes Matter: Why Immediate First Aid Saves Lives

In many medical emergencies, the first few minutes are critical. The actions taken before professional help arrives can make a significant difference to the outcome for the casualty.

For example:

❤️Cardiac Arrest
When someone suffers a cardiac arrest, their chances of survival decrease by around 10% for every minute without CPR or defibrillation. Early CPR and rapid use of an AED can dramatically improve survival rates.

🩸 Severe Bleeding
Uncontrolled bleeding can become life-threatening within minutes. A trained first aider can quickly apply pressure, use dressings, and help control blood loss until emergency services arrive.

😡 Choking
A blocked airway can quickly deprive the brain of oxygen. Knowing how to recognise choking and perform back blows and abdominal thrusts can save a life.

⚡ Confidence to Act
Many people hesitate in an emergency because they are unsure what to do. First aid training gives individuals the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills needed to respond calmly and effectively.

When more people in a workplace are trained in first aid, the chances of someone being able to step in and help immediately are much higher.

At KMG Training, our courses provide practical, hands-on training that prepares people to respond to real-life emergencies with confidence.

🚑 Why First Aid Training Is Good for Business

First aid training isn’t just about compliance — it’s an investment in the safety, confidence, and resilience of your workplace.

Here are some key benefits for businesses:

🫀 Protects your people
Accidents and medical emergencies can happen anywhere. Having trained first aiders in your workplace ensures someone can act quickly to provide immediate care while waiting for emergency services.

⚖️ Helps meet legal responsibilities
Under UK health and safety legislation, employers must ensure appropriate first aid provision is in place. Training staff helps demonstrate that your organisation is meeting its duty of care.

⏱️ Faster response in emergencies
The first few minutes of a medical emergency are often the most critical. Trained staff can recognise serious conditions such as cardiac arrest, choking, or severe bleeding and respond quickly.

💼 Builds a safer workplace culture
First aid training increases awareness of health and safety risks and encourages employees to look out for one another, helping create a safer and more supportive work environment.

📈 Boosts staff confidence and morale
Employees often feel more confident and valued when they know their employer invests in their skills and wellbeing.

🏢 Flexible training for your team
At KMG Training, we can deliver RQF regulated, nationally recognised first aid qualifications directly in your workplace, making it easy to train your team while minimising disruption to your business.

❤️ Amazing Facts About the Human Heart

Your heart is one of the hardest working muscles in your body — and it never takes a day off.

Here are a few fascinating facts about this incredible organ:

🫀 Your heart beats over 100,000 times every day
That’s around 35 million beats per year, constantly pumping blood around your body to deliver oxygen and nutrients.

🫀 It pumps around 7,500 litres of blood every single day
That’s enough blood to fill a small tanker truck — all moved through a network of blood vessels that could stretch over 60,000 miles in the human body.

🫀 Heart attacks are more common in the morning
Research shows they occur more frequently in the early hours due to hormonal changes, blood pressure increases, and the body transitioning from sleep to wakefulness.

🫀 Exercise makes your heart stronger
Regular physical activity helps the heart pump blood more efficiently, reducing the risk of heart disease and improving overall health.

Knowing how the heart works is important — but knowing what to do in an emergency can save a life.

🚑 First aid training gives you the skills and confidence to act quickly when someone needs help.

🚑 Choosing the Right First Aid Course for Your Business

Providing first aid training in the workplace isn’t just good practice — it’s a legal responsibility under UK health and safety regulations. But many businesses aren’t sure whether they need Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) or the more comprehensive First Aid at Work (FAW) qualification.

Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW)
This 1-day course provides essential lifesaving skills so someone in your workplace can respond quickly to an emergency until professional help arrives.

The course covers:
• Assessing an incident safely
• CPR and AED use
• Dealing with choking
• Managing bleeding and minor wounds
• Recognising and treating shock
• Responding to seizures and other common medical emergencies

EFAW is typically suitable for low-risk environments, such as:
• Offices
• Retail settings
• Small businesses
• Administrative workplaces

First Aid at Work (FAW)
The 3-day FAW course provides more comprehensive training so first aiders can respond to a wider range of injuries and medical emergencies.

In addition to the EFAW topics, it also includes:
• Fractures, sprains and dislocations
• Burns and eye injuries
• Chest injuries and severe bleeding
• Major illnesses such as heart attacks, strokes, asthma and diabetic emergencies
• Secondary casualty assessment and ongoing monitoring
• First aid responsibilities and incident reporting

FAW is usually required in higher-risk workplaces, including:
• Construction
• Warehousing and logistics
• Manufacturing and engineering
• Agriculture and outdoor industries

At KMG Training, we can deliver training directly in your workplace, helping minimise disruption while ensuring your team is properly prepared.

All of our courses lead to RQF regulated, nationally recognised qualifications, making it simple for businesses to demonstrate compliance and due diligence.
