What Is Care?

Care is more than moments when we're needed,
More than tasks completed, plans succeeded.
It's found within the time we choose to share,
The gentle presence that says, "I am here."

It lives within a trusted hand,
A listening heart that understands.
In every smile, each conversation,
Care creates a lasting foundation.

It's built through laughter, tears, and time,
Through ordinary moments that quietly shine.
A cup of tea, a walk, a chair pulled near,
The simple acts that make someone feel dear.

Care is trust that's slowly grown,
Helping hearts feel less alone.
It's companionship that lights the way,
Bringing comfort to each day.

And over time, through bonds sincere,
We become like family drawing near.
Not by blood, but by the ties we weave,
Through kindness shown and care believed.

For residents, we're more than faces they see,
We're part of their story, their daily journey.
An extended family, steadfast and true,
Sharing life's chapters as they continue.

So what is care?

It's compassion given freely, without measure,
Turning fleeting moments into treasured forever.
It's being present, patient, and fair,
Because at its heart, that is care.

What an incredible afternoon we had at our Children with Cancer Fund Charity Summer FΓͺte on Saturday 1st August! β˜€οΈπŸ’›

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to support this wonderful cause. Residents, families, friends, visitors and members of our local community joined us in the beautiful sunshine, making it a truly memorable day in the stunning gardens at Earlsfield Court.

There was something for everyone to enjoy, with a fantastic variety of stalls offering wonderful prizes, games, and even relaxing hand massages available for a small donation. Our live music created the perfect summer atmosphere, while guests tucked into a delicious BBQ and enjoyed refreshments ranging from the ever-popular Pimm's and ice-cold lager to a selection of other drinks.

Most importantly, the day was all about coming together to support the incredible work of the Children with Cancer Fund. Every donation made on the day will help make a difference to children and their families.

The final fundraising total is currently being calculated by the Children with Cancer Fund, and we can't wait to share the fantastic amount raised with you as soon as we receive it.

From everyone at Earlsfield Court, thank you once again for your generosity, kindness and support. Together, you've helped make this event a wonderful success for such an important cause. πŸ’›

πŸ’™ WHO ARE YOU WALKING FOR?
πŸšΆβ€β™€οΈ ONE MILE. ONE MILLION REASONS. πŸ’™

We've walked our mile... now it's YOUR turn.

Wherever you are in the UK, we want you to join the movement and take on One Mile, One Million Reasons in support of Louis Alexander's incredible mission to raise Β£1 million for Race Against Dementia.

πŸ‘Ÿ Walk it.
πŸƒ Run it.
πŸ• Take the dog.
πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§ Bring the children.
πŸ‘΅ Walk with grandparents.
🀝 Go solo or gather friends and family.

However you choose to complete your mile, make it count.

πŸ“Έ Take a selfie or photo during your mile and tell us:
πŸ’™ Who are you walking for?
πŸ’™ Why does dementia research matter to you?
πŸ’™ How did you complete your mile?

Then share your photo and story using:

🎁 Everyone who takes part and shares their mile will be entered into a prize draw with a chance to win a £250 Highstreet shopping voucher, with one winner selected at random on Tuesday 2nd September.

We'd also love you to support Louis' fundraising mission by making a donation, no matter how big or small:

Every donation helps bring us one step closer to a future free from dementia.

This movement started with Earlsfield Court a small care home in Bexhill, but it belongs to all of us.

Together, we can show Louis that communities across the country are standing beside him in his mission to change the future of dementia research. Every step taken, every photo shared, every story told, and every pound raised helps make a difference.

🌍 One mile may seem small.
πŸ’™ But thousands of people walking one mile together can create something extraordinary.

So let's keep this movement growing.
βœ… Tag your friends
βœ… Challenge your family
βœ… Nominate your colleagues
βœ… Share your story
βœ… Donate if you can

What an incredible day for

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who joined us, supported us, donated, shared our posts, and helped spread awareness of dementia. The support from our local community has been truly overwhelming and shows just what can be achieved when people come together for a cause that touches so many lives.

A special thank you to Connor Winter - Conservative Councillor for St Marks and Bexhill Lions club for their support and for helping us make this event such a success. Your encouragement and community spirit played a valuable part in making the day so memorable.

And a massive thank you to for not only joining us for the walk but also for delivering a truly inspirational talk about his extraordinary journey. Everyone who attended was captivated by his story, inspired by his determination, and left in awe of his achievements. His dedication to raising awareness and vital funding for dementia causes is remarkable, and we are honoured to have welcomed him to Earlsfield Court.

This week, at Earlsfield Court Care Home, our residents enjoyed a wonderful afternoon in the sunshine as we celebrated National Picnic Month in our beautiful gardens. With fresh air, good food and great company, it was the perfect chance to slow down and enjoy the simple pleasures of summer.

Being outdoors supports wellbeing β€” boosting mood, encouraging gentle movement and helping everyone feel more relaxed. The warm weather also inspired lovely reminiscing, with residents sharing stories of family picnics, seaside trips and childhood summers spent outdoors.

Moments like these strengthen social connection, spark conversation and bring our community even closer together.

A simple picnic, enjoyed in the sunshine, truly makes a big difference to lifestyle, wellbeing and happiness.

Yesterday at Earlsfield Court Care Home we were delighted to welcome Rev. Jonathan from St. Mark’s Church for a peaceful time of reflection, faith, and togetherness.

Maintaining our spiritual roots becomes even more meaningful in later life β€” offering familiarity, comfort, and a deep sense of love.

Moments of quiet adoration and shared praise help us reconnect with what matters most, reminding us that faith continues to guide, strengthen, and uplift us.

Rev. Jonathan’s gentle presence brought warmth to the room, and many residents expressed how reassuring it felt to join in community worship. These visits nurture wellbeing, build connection, and honour the traditions that have shaped our residents’ lives.

Faith brings peace.
Community brings belonging. Together, they bring joy.
