🚨 BENEDICT’S LAW IS YOUR SCHOOL READY?

Allergy and anaphylaxis safety in schools has changed.

Following the campaign for Benedict’s Law, schools in England now face strengthened allergy-safety requirements, including an allergy safety policy and staff training.

But here’s the thing…

💷 Why spend hundreds of pounds booking separate courses?

With See Training Solutions, anaphylaxis awareness is incorporated into our comprehensive training — giving your team the knowledge and confidence to recognise a severe allergic reaction and respond appropriately.

One trainer.
One comprehensive course.
More covered.
Better value for your school. ❤️

😵‍💫 DID YOU KNOW?

You should NEVER let someone who has fainted get up too quickly.

Although they may feel better within seconds, standing up too soon can cause them to faint again because blood hasn’t fully returned to the brain.

💡 Instead:
✔️ Help them lie flat.
✔️ Raise their legs if possible.
✔️ Let them recover fully before standing.
✔️ If they don’t regain consciousness quickly or you’re concerned, call 999.

The right knowledge at the right time could prevent another fall and further injury.

🔥 Did You Know?

Burns continue to damage the skin even after the heat source has been removed.

Cooling a burn under cool running water for 20 minutes helps stop the burning process and limits tissue damage.

🩹 DID YOU KNOW?

Most people think a bruise is “just a bruise”… but it’s actually your body’s way of protecting and repairing an injury.

When you knock yourself, tiny blood vessels (capillaries) beneath the skin can break, allowing a small amount of blood to leak into the surrounding tissue. That’s what creates the familiar purple, blue and black colouring.

💡 As your body heals, the bruise changes colour because it’s breaking down and reabsorbing the trapped blood.

Most bruises will heal on their own, but seek medical advice if a bruise:
🔴 Appears without an obvious cause
🔴 Is very large or extremely painful
🔴 Continues to grow
🔴 Doesn’t improve after a couple of weeks

Understanding why our bodies react the way they do helps us recognise when an injury is healing normally—and when it may need further attention.

Did You Know? 🤔

Swelling is actually one of your body’s natural defence mechanisms.

When you’re injured, your body sends extra blood, fluid and immune cells to the area to help protect it and begin the healing process.

The problem? Your body can’t always judge exactly how much swelling is needed. Too much swelling can increase pressure on surrounding tissues, causing extra pain, reduced movement and, in some cases, further complications.

💡 That’s why managing swelling correctly is so important after an injury.
