Our digital cafe is happening right NOW! (Friday 21st August, 2-4pm, Victoria House Surgery)

If you or if you know someone who would like any help with the NHS App, such as signing up for it, how to request medication, how to use the app to view their medical records etc....send them our way, or bring them over with you.

Our friendly volunteers are ready and waiting to help!

🌡️ Do you know the difference between heat exhaustion and heat stroke?

With high temperatures forecast for today and the rest of the week, it's important to recognise the signs of heat-related illness and know when someone needs urgent help.

✅ Heat exhaustion can usually be treated by moving to a cooler place, drinking fluids and resting
🚨Heat stroke is a medical emergency and can be life-threatening. If someone has a very high temperature, becomes confused, loses consciousness or has a seizure, call 999 immediately.

Take a moment to familiarise yourself with the symptoms in our graphic - it could help you protect yourself, a family member, friend or neighbour during the current hot weather.

Remember to:
💧Drink plenty of water
🌳Stay in the shade where possible
👕Where light, loose-fitting clothing
☀️Avoid strenuous activity during the hottest part of the day
👩‍🦳Check on older relatives, neighbours and anyone who may be vulnerable to the heat

Knowing the difference could help save a life.
