This sums it up so well, really like this post.

Take the next step, don’t think beyond that. It’s not powerful if we are fully in the here and now.

There is no perfect time, answer, solution.

Feel its presence and do it anyway. 💪🏼

Nothing really to see here other than Mila snout!
Or ‘ Snoover’ as we call it. 🐽

Reminder that sessions are available throughout the summer holidays. It’s always a little quieter at this time of year, so I have availability.

Anticipatory grief, not easy to go through.
If you can relate to this post you are not alone.

Something that relates to me on a personal level and much talked about on a professional level.

Clients come to counselling to have a witness to their experiences.

Often we listen to the main story, but it’s normally the sub plot that’s the interesting part and that reveals more. Clients also present, which is referred to as the ‘ Decoy Issue’. When we go underneath the emotions it is something else entirely, it’s bringing that into awareness and working through it.
When we hear ourselves tell another it adds confirmation and more understanding.

Counselling isn’t always about the big things, it’s often the small things.

At the end of the day if it matters to you, then that is enough. No one gets to tell you what’s important to you and what isn’t.

The assumption that the hardest parts of menopause are the numerous physical changes and although they aren’t a walk in the park they can be managed. ( or a walk in Jurassic park!!) not my words, but a recent post I read😬

The anger that comes with the hormonal shift is something else and I agree with the post it needs its own category.

I’ve worked with many women over the years at this stage of their life and the amount of times I’ve heard them expressing concern over the rage the anger, feeling broken, not myself. I’ve lost count. 😞

One client said “ Menopause drops the veil” - it seems to reveal all past and present issues and I’ve not forgotten that conversation.

If you’d like a chat, to see how counselling can help you at this time, or how it’s affecting your relationship with your partner, then please get in touch.

Try and stay as cool as you can in this heat, Seasonal Affective Disorder can be present for some in summer months not just winter.

The heat and tiredness can inflate feelings of anxiety, loneliness and grief. In the warm weather we feel we should do more, be out enjoying the sun but in fact it’s absolutely ok and necessary to do less. Try not to feel guilty if you are struggling and summer is not your season.

I much prefer it a bit cooler and for me I love Autumn the most. 🍂

You don’t need to earn rest, stay cool and stay hydrated. We all struggle at different times for different reasons, don’t be hard on yourself if that’s you now.
