Another week has passed and this one has felt heavy.

I didn’t like starting a brand new month without Pops. Another page turned, another reminder that the world keeps moving, even though it feels like part of mine has stopped.

I’ve also been deliberating about how much of this deeply personal journey to share here…

This space has always been about yoga, mindfulness, wellbeing and finding steadiness through life’s seasons. And whether I like it or not, grief has become one of those seasons…

It’s become a big part of how I move through the life now. It shapes the way I practise, the way I teach, and the way I listen, so it feels as relevant to share as anything else I post on these little squares.

I don’t want this page to become consumed by sadness. I know that there is still so much joy, beauty and laughter to be found here too.

But Yoga never asked us to be endlessly positive. It asks us to be present. To meet ourselves fully, honestly.

So here we are. This week has been hard.

I’ve cried more than usual. I’ve missed him deeply. I’ve found myself wanting to talk to him countless times. I’ve wished time would slow down because every day feels like being pulled further away from having him here.

I know there will be other hard weeks, alongside moments of joy, and everything in between.

I know that this season won’t be hurried, I’ll be in it for a while, and so pretending that it doesn’t hurt isn’t really an option.

If you’re carrying something heavy, I hope you know you don’t have to rush yourself. Whatever season you’re in, you’re allowed to be there as long as you need.

Sending love and gratitude for continuing to share this space with me, exactly as it is.

Anxiety that shows up out of nowhere in your 40s with no clear cause could be down to hormonal shifts. And that doesn’t make it any less real!

Your nervous system doesn’t distinguish between a real threat and a perceived one- it responds the same way whatever, which means it can’t be rationalised or reasoned with, only regulated.

If this sounds familiar; my yoga for menopause programme is starting up again this Sept with a suite of offerings from one off workshops, online classes synched to your cycle, and the full 10 week course for more in-depth support.

Class planning / home practice playtime. ✨

This is a little glimpse into my own practice while I was planning yours for this week. Not all of this made it into the class plan, because this practice was for me….

I can definitely draw inspiration from that, but when I teach, it’s not about me, it’s about you.

My job is to support you to find the unique practice that fits your unique needs, wants, and whims in that unique moment in time. Sometimes you won’t know what you really need until you get curious and start to explore.

After class tonight someone said, “I never know what I’m going to get when I come here.” I smiled because, to me, that’s one of the loveliest compliments.

I never want classes to feel like we’re just going through the motions. I want each one to offer something more: a different way to move, a fresh perspective, a new lesson to take home with you.

This week’s classes are playful, energising and all about exploring and celebrating our own uniqueness.

Your yoga practice doesn’t need to look like anyone else’s. It only needs to feel like your own.

No two bodies are the same. No two minds are the same. No two practices are the same.

And that’s worth celebrating. So let’s celebrate our uniqueness together this week 🙌

If you’ve never been on a retreat with us, you might have some warped assumptions about what it’ll be like.

Hope this clears some of those up!!

Our retreats are not bootcamp. They’re not about rigid schedules, gruelling training or starving ourselves- we want them to feel like an indulgent treat: a whole weekend to be wrapped up and looked after and return feeling nourished and revived.

You can join us:
Glastonbury 6-9 Nov
Marrakesh 2-7 May

It’s been 16 days since my Dad died.

I have been through many cycles of emotions in that time, and have learned a lot about where peace lives.

Before I launch myself into making new plans and attempting to get things back on track with the studio, I want to take a moment to thank you all.

I’m so grateful for every kind message that landed in my inbox, my phone, my heart.

Thank you for giving me space to grieve, and for being part of the community I get to lean on while I continue to do so. You’re really very special.

If you’d like to read some words I wrote about my Dad (‘Pops’) there’s a link to a very short tribute in my bio.

With love and shanti / peace 🩶

Baby steps… I moved my body today, and it felt good.

For much of this week I’ve been drifting around in a bit of a lost daze, but I’ve had some beautiful moments of peace, company, stillness and reflection.

I’ve decided to teach my usual classes on Monday and Tuesday this week.

This isn’t me pressuring myself to come back before I’m ready, it’s me leaning into the practices and the people that support me, anchor me, and allow me to show up exactly as I am, when it matters the most to do so.

After that I’ll be away for a week.

Here is your schedule for the next couple of weeks, with cover in place for some of the classes I’ll miss:

Some raw reflections on light and dark, joy and pain, love and grief… and on making space for all of it to coexist…

It’s human nature to want to avoid pain, but to avoid a pain this deep would also be to avoid a love this deep. Neither can exist without the other, so I’ll take all of it.

With gratitude.

And in the knowledge that the love that sits beside the pain in my heart is mine to keep. And there’s enough in there to last an entire lifetime 🩶

With thanks to for his ongoing wisdoms (he’s an accidental yogi)
