Another week has passed and this one has felt heavy.
I didn’t like starting a brand new month without Pops. Another page turned, another reminder that the world keeps moving, even though it feels like part of mine has stopped.
I’ve also been deliberating about how much of this deeply personal journey to share here…
This space has always been about yoga, mindfulness, wellbeing and finding steadiness through life’s seasons. And whether I like it or not, grief has become one of those seasons…
It’s become a big part of how I move through the life now. It shapes the way I practise, the way I teach, and the way I listen, so it feels as relevant to share as anything else I post on these little squares.
I don’t want this page to become consumed by sadness. I know that there is still so much joy, beauty and laughter to be found here too.
But Yoga never asked us to be endlessly positive. It asks us to be present. To meet ourselves fully, honestly.
So here we are. This week has been hard.
I’ve cried more than usual. I’ve missed him deeply. I’ve found myself wanting to talk to him countless times. I’ve wished time would slow down because every day feels like being pulled further away from having him here.
I know there will be other hard weeks, alongside moments of joy, and everything in between.
I know that this season won’t be hurried, I’ll be in it for a while, and so pretending that it doesn’t hurt isn’t really an option.
If you’re carrying something heavy, I hope you know you don’t have to rush yourself. Whatever season you’re in, you’re allowed to be there as long as you need.
Sending love and gratitude for continuing to share this space with me, exactly as it is.
