Recovery looks different for everyone - no two pregnancies, no two births & no two recoveries.

Every mum's experience is different - which is why treatment should always be personalised.

If you're recovering from a c-section, experiencing ongoing abdominal discomfort, struggling with scar tightness or simply want to support your body after birth, treatment should be tailored to you.

Together we can look at your symptoms, your history and your goals to create a treatment plan that supports your recovery.

"My scar is years old, so there's nothing I can do." But in reality you can be helped significantly through scar work long after the initial healing stages. Every single time I've worked on someone with an old scar the response is always the same after just one session. "Oh my goodness! I can't believe how different that feels. That's so much better." Changes are quick, painless and permanent.

Scar therapy can still help improve flexibility, mobility and comfort, even many years after surgery. Whether your baby is six months old or sixteen years old, your scar may still benefit from treatment.

If you've been living with tightness, pulling or discomfort, don't assume you simply have to live with it - Book in for scar massage today: https://discoverwellbeing.info/scar-massage/

When a baby arrives, all of the attention naturally shifts to them. But who is looking after Mum? SO many women put their own recovery at the bottom of the list.

Living with pain, ignoring tightness and accepting discomfort as "normal."

Taking time for your own recovery helps you feel stronger, move more comfortably and gives your body the opportunity to heal, and looking after yourself isn't taking anything away from your family, it's investing in your health. Your digestive system often changes during and after pregnancy - Bloating, constipation, a feeling of tightness and discomfort around the abdomen are all symptoms you can experience.

Abdominal massage is a gentle treatment that can help improve circulation, encourage healthy movement within the digestive system and release tension throughout the abdomen.

Many mums are surprised by how much lighter and more comfortable they feel afterwards.

It's a gentle but effective way of supporting your body's natural recovery.

When we think about recovering after birth, we often focus on what we can see, but underneath the surface, your body is still adapting.

Your abdominal muscles, connective tissue, posture and breathing patterns have all changed throughout pregnancy, which is why some mums continue to experience aches, weakness or discomfort months and even years after giving birth.

A holistic approach looks at your whole body, not just one symptom. Supporting your recovery can include scar therapy, abdominal massage and helping your body regain comfortable movement and function.

If you've spent the last month learning more about your health, now ask yourself:

- Which habit will you continue?
- What symptoms will you stop ignoring?
- What one thing could you do this week to support your wellbeing?

Real self-care isn't something we do for one month each year. It's the small, consistent choices we make every day.

If you'd like some personalised support, I'm here to help. Together we can look beyond the symptoms and create a plan that's tailored to you.

Here's to feeling healthier, happier and more in tune with your body.

πŸ’š Today is International Self-Care Day

How often do you put everyone else's needs before your own?

For many of us, self-care is the first thing to disappear when life gets busy. We tell ourselves we'll slow down next week, drink more water tomorrow, or book that appointment when things calm down.

But your health shouldn't have to wait. Self-care is about giving your body the support it needs to function at its best.

It can be as simple as:
πŸ’§ Drinking enough water.
πŸ₯— Nourishing your body with wholesome foods.
🚢 Going for a walk.
😴 Prioritising quality sleep.
🧘 Taking time to slow down.
πŸ’† Listening to your body instead of ignoring its signals.

If you've been struggling with headaches, digestive issues, aches and pains, hormonal changes, inflammation or simply not feeling like yourself, your body may be asking for support.

You don't have to live with symptoms that have become your "normal."

This International Self-Care Day, make one promise to yourself: take one small step towards better health.

Because when you look after yourself, you're better able to look after everyone else too. πŸ’š

Happy International Self-Care Day!
