In the stillness of our grounds, remembrance lives on.
Our war memorial stands not only as a tribute to the fallen, but as a place for reflection, healing, and gratitude.
All are welcome to visit in the days leading up to 11th November.

Hello

As a funeral celebrant, I’m always mindful of how sensitive the subject of loss and remembrance can be, so I often find it difficult to share posts on my page.

However, during a recent visit to the beautiful Lake District, I stayed in the charming village of Grasmere and found myself deeply moved by its history. One particular walk stood out — the ‘Coffin Walk’ from Grasmere to Ambleside.

Having just visited the grave of William Wordsworth, I soon realised that this very path was once taken by pallbearers carrying him to his final resting place. Walking along the same route offered a quiet moment for reflection — a reminder of the journeys we all take and the care and dignity with which we accompany others on theirs.

Below are a few photos I captured along the way. As you can see, it would have been quite a challenging and hazardous walk, but one filled with beauty and peace.

Hello 😊

Last night I had the privilege of being invited to Basildon and District Crematorium for the launch of Canvas. This is a beautiful new feature in their Riverview Chapel, where a calming backdrop can be displayed on the wall as you celebrate the life of someone you love.

There are many thoughtful choices, from wildflowers and waterfalls to something more personal, like a football stadium. It’s a simple yet powerful way to reflect a life and the memories shared.

Religious symbols can be added and your tribute photo can be displayed in varying sizes from the size people are familiar with, when typically displayed on a screen on the wall, to the size of almost the whole back wall.

Alongside this, there is now a gallery in the waiting room, made up of the photographs you provide for the tribute, so those attending can spend time looking back at those special moments.

I picked up some examples which I've tried to show in the photos below, but if you are sadly in the position of needing to arrange a service, I encourage you to take a look at their website or page. I’ll include the links for you.

If I can be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.

I wish you well.
