We’re a Registered Charity supporting elderly and vulnerable adults and carers across Essex.
Sometimes, a little help at home can make a very big difference.
At Essex Home Help Service, we believe that needing some extra support shouldn’t mean losing your independence or the comfort of your own home.
It might be keeping on top of the housework, doing the shopping, changing the bed, putting the washing away… or simply having someone familiar there for a chat and a cup of tea.
Because sometimes, it isn’t the practical help that matters most.
It’s knowing someone is coming through the door who knows you, knows your routine and genuinely cares.
🌿 Our Home Helps can provide:
🧹 Light domestic tasks
🛒 Shopping and putting away deliveries
🛏️ Changing bed linen
🧺 Laundry and ironing
🧽 Kitchen and bathroom cleaning
🗑️ Taking out the bins
🪟 Cleaning inside windows
🧊 Fridge cleaning and checking out-of-date food
☕ Companionship and sitting service
📞 Telephone befriending and wellbeing calls
And because consistency matters, you’ll have the same Home Help, on the same day, at the same time each week.
Visits are a minimum of one hour, with no limit on the hours you require.
Every one of our Home Helps is Enhanced DBS checked, referenced, fully insured and fully trained.

Our No Walk Away Promise means that if a client doesn’t answer the door, our Home Help doesn’t simply leave.
We follow our emergency procedures until we have established where our client is and that they are safe and well.
It’s a promise that gives families peace of mind when they can’t be there themselves.

We understand that supporting someone living with dementia requires patience, compassion, understanding and — perhaps most importantly — consistency and familiarity.
