📖 New Blog Post: Men's Health Week 2026

As Men's Health Week draws to a close, it's a good opportunity to reflect on the importance of both physical and mental wellbeing.

Many men face pressures that can make it difficult to prioritise their health or seek support when they need it. This year's Men's Health Week encourages open conversations, greater awareness, and reminds us that looking after our health matters at every age.

Our latest blog explores:
- Why Men's Health Week matters
- The importance of physical and mental wellbeing
- Common signs that someone may be struggling
- Small lifestyle changes that can make a difference
- Charities and organisations offering support

Whether you're looking for information for yourself or someone you care about, we hope this article provides useful guidance and resources.

🌟 Introducing our very first Share Your Story feature! 🌟

We are delighted to share the first client story featured in our newsletter and on our website.

This month, we sat down for a chat with one of our wonderful clients and heard stories spanning Army life, farming, family, ballroom dancing, model making, and much more. It was a fascinating conversation filled with humour, resilience, and a lifetime of memories.

At Forget Me Not Home Care, we believe that everyone has a story worth telling. That's why we're launching Share Your Story – a regular feature celebrating the experiences, achievements, memories, and wisdom of the incredible people we support.

Would you like to take part?

We would love to hear from more clients who would like to share their story. Interviews are informal, relaxed, and can be completed anonymously if preferred. Whether you'd like to talk about your life, your hobbies, your family, your career, or simply share some favourite memories, we'd be honoured to feature you.

While the weather may not be quite as sunny this week, we're looking back on a lovely recent outing enjoyed by Judith and one of our wonderful clients at Leasingham Garden Centre.

There were smiles all round as they spent time exploring, meeting the animals, and enjoying the fresh air. One particular highlight was the aviary, which brought back happy memories after Judith spotted a photograph at home showing our client and her daughter with a budgie many years ago.

Moments like these are about so much more than getting out of the house. They spark conversations, reconnect us with treasured memories, and bring a little extra joy to the day.

Safe to say, if the garden centre hadn't closed for the day, she may well still be chatting to the birds now! 💙🐦

Volunteers’ Week (1–7 June 2026) is a chance to celebrate the kindness, time, and support given by volunteers across the UK.

From community groups and charities to local organisations, volunteers make a real difference to people’s lives every single day. Their dedication helps strengthen communities, supports those in need, and brings people together.

It is also a lovely reminder that even the smallest acts of kindness, support, and companionship can have a lasting impact on someone’s life.

To all volunteers – thank you for everything you do. Your time, compassion, and commitment are truly appreciated. 🌟

We’re not entirely sure what was said during this conversation… but the geese seemed very invested in it!

A lovely afternoon spent outdoors, enjoying the sunshine, the fresh air and a few unexpected little encounters along the way. Sometimes the best days are the ones filled with simple smiles and spontaneous moments. 💛

A lovely day of social visits for our wonderful carer Julie 💙

One lovely lady enjoyed coffee and cake followed by a little shopping trip – the perfect way to spend an afternoon.

Another enjoyed a pub lunch and tucked into a classic scampi, chips and mushy peas – delicious!

Sometimes it is the simple things, a catch-up over coffee, a favourite meal, or a little trip out – that make the best days.

Did you know there are more than 26,000 armed forces veterans living in care homes across England and Wales?

We’ve shared a new blog highlighting the incredible work of Veterans for Veterans in Care, a charity helping support the “Forgotten Army” through veteran visits, wellbeing support, community events, and staff workshops.

Their work helps veterans feel recognised, respected, and connected to the communities and identities that shaped their lives 💙
