Breast screening is the best way to check for breast cancer, the most common type of cancer in the UK. The earlier cancer is caught, the better the chance of receiving successful treatments and care so if you are invited in for a screening, please don’t delay in attending your appointment.

The procedure itself is simple and only takes a few minutes. You will be asked a few questions before the mammographer x-rays each breast in turn – and then you’re all done.

Bowel screening is a test you do at home. It’s offered to people aged between 50 and 74. When your kit arrives, complete and return it. Don’t put it off.
