Take care in the summer weather 💙

This summer, remember that vulnerable people are more at risk from higher temperatures.

🌞 Don't forget your sunscreen! - Even if it’s cloudy, UV rays can still cause sunburn. Stay in the shade to avoid getting sunburn, reducing your risk of developing skin cancer.

🫗 Stay hydrated - Babies, children and older adults are more at risk of dehydration. If it's not treated, it can become a serious problem.

🔥 Know the difference between heat exhaustion and heatstroke. Heat exhaustion does not usually need emergency medical help if you can cool down within 30 minutes. If it turns into heatstroke, it needs to be treated as an emergency, call 999.

Are you or someone you care for, born between 1 September 2007 and 31 August 2008?

You are now eligible to book your MenB vaccine through the NHS national booking system. You may have already been contacted via your NHS app or a letter. 📲

📆 People under 25 (born on or after 21 July 2001) who are starting university or certain residential further education settings for the first time this autumn, are also eligible for the vaccine.

If that's you, you can self-refer and get a vaccination at a participating pharmacy.
