✅If you suffer with IBS, look at adding avocado, spinach, dark chocolate, and almonds to your day. Here's why:

Magnesium plays a crucial role in promoting gut health by enhancing the diversity of microbiota and regulating bowel movements, easing constipation and alleviating symptoms associated with conditions like IBS and SIBO.

By drawing water into the intestines, magnesium eases constipation and promotes smoother transit, it also calms the nervous system, reducing gut spasms and discomfort, all symptoms of IBS.

Magnesium can also be supported through supplementation, if you’d like to know what I use personally feel free to ask!

Slow motility can cause more fermentation, leading to more discomfort.

• Bacteria lingering too long
• Pressure building
• Irregular bowel movements

👉Try this for just 3 days:

Before you eat anything from a packet, scan the label for these words:

Wheat
Barley
Rye
Oats
Flour
Breadcrumbs

If you see them, choose a safer alternative.

Why this helps:

Removing grains can make digestion noticeably calmer within 48–72 hours, as they contain hard to digest, and highly fermentable fibres which can cause digestive distress.

Prefer to add to your diet rather than take something out?

Consider my 4‑Week Yoghurt Protocol instead, it's just 2 spoons of probiotic-rich clinic-grade yoghurt daily, adding billions of beneficial cultures to your digestive system helping to ease discomfort.

Top 5 Mistakes People Make With Yoghurt - Most people buy yoghurt for their gut, but unknowingly make five mistakes that keep them stuck in the IBS/SIBO cycle:

1. Choosing commercial yoghurt using short fermentation = low culture count
2. Not knowing they contain additives such as gums, thickeners and emulsifiers which irritate sensitive digestion
3. Ignoring lactose content, as most supermarket yoghurt still contains plenty
4. Starting with full portions which can be overwhelming for reactive guts
5. Expecting quick results, microbiome shifts take consistency

My clinic‑grade yoghurt avoids all five: extended fermentation, no additives, low‑lactose, and a stepwise protocol that supports comfort!

Visit me at Quex Craft Village to learn more about how my yoghurt can help with IBS symptoms or digestive disturbances.

Grains and IBS Top Tip: Try replacing whole grains with gentler alternatives like root vegetables, quinoa, or buckwheat for a few days and see if your digestion feels calmer and more comfortable.

Whole grains are often promoted as a health staple, but they also contain plant toxins known as lectins (including gluten, wheat germ agglutinin, and saponins) which can irritate the delicate gut lining.

For some people with IBS, lectin‑rich grains can aggravate the mucosa and disturb microbial balance, worsening bloating, constipation or diarrhoea. A short period of swapping grains for gentler alternatives can help determine whether grain‑derived lectins are contributing to symptoms.

IBS sufferers are more prone to SIBO, where bacteria migrate into the small intestine and cause bloating, pain, and food reactions.

Supporting the gut with targeted strains helps rebalance microbes and reduce fermentation.

When the small intestine becomes overcrowded with gas‑producing microbes, you may notice:

• Rapid bloating after eating
• A tight, swollen abdomen
• Pressure that worsens as the day goes on

Supporting microbial balance helps:

• Reduce aggressive fermentation
• Calm the gut lining
• Improve tolerance to everyday foods

Do you feel your gut microbiome may need some calming cultures?

👉Why not try my ‘Super Gut’ yoghurt, you simply enjoy just 2 spoons of high-potency clinic grade yoghurt daily for 4 weeks.

DIARRHOEA & URGENCY Interesting fact: Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth can increase small‑intestinal inflammation and speed up transit time, contributing to IBS‑D symptoms in up to 60% of cases.

When bacteria overgrow in the small intestine, they stimulate the gut to move too quickly — leading to urgency, loose stools and that “can’t‑wait” feeling after meals.

IBS & SIBO causes both sensitivity and reactivity, both leading to food intolerance overload due to:

• Overgrowth of pathogenic species, driving fermentation
• Gas and bloating after high‑FODMAP foods, causing discomfort
• Unpredictable bowel reactions, leading to public loo dilemmas

Try this for just 3 days:

Build every meal around protein + veg + healthy fats:

• Proteins (eggs, fish, chicken,)
• Low‑starch vegetables (courgette, peppers, spinach, cucumber)
• Healthy fats (olive oil, avocado, nuts)

Why this helps:

This structure naturally removes fermentable grain fibres without feeling restrictive, keeps you full, and reduces the fermentation that drives bloating.

Prefer to add to your diet rather than take out?
