Thank you to those who joined us for our first mental health and wellbeing support session today. We look forward to welcoming you again next Wednesday.

If you’re looking for help and support with your mental health, please contact the practice and ask for a referral to be sent to our Mental Health Social prescribers.

Thank you to everyone who joined us today for our first Mental Health & Wellbeing support group at Townfield Medical Centre. It was a full house and great to welcome you all.

If you feel you could benefit from some help and support with your mental wellbeing, please contact your GP practice and ask to be referred to our Mental Health Social Prescribers who will contact you about the group sessions.

The group will meet again next week on Wednesday 16th September 1.30pm at Townfield medical centre. We look forward to welcoming you again then. (refreshments will be provided).

Mamafit Wirral is a community-based programme that supports women to stay active during pregnancy and safely return to exercise after birth.

The programme helps mums improve their physical wellbeing, confidence and mental health, while also providing opportunities for social connection and peer support.

The programme currently offers a range of FREE exercise and lifestyle activities, including:
Pregnancy Exercise & Lifestyle Course – Arrowe Park Hospital
Mother & Baby Exercise Course – Seacombe Family Hub
Mums' Social Walk & Talk – Birkenhead Park

These sessions provide a welcoming and supportive environment where mums can meet others, access trusted information, and take part in safe, instructor-led physical activity. In addition to the free activities, Mamafit offers follow-on fitness classes to help participants continue their physical activity journey and maintain the benefits of staying active.

September is Gynaecological Cancer Awareness Month. Swipe to learn the key symptoms of the five gynaecological cancers, so you know what to look out for.

You know your body better than anyone. Knowing what’s normal for you can help you spot when something changes.

Having any of these symptoms does not definitely mean you have cancer, but it’s important to get checked by a GP.

If your symptoms are caused by cancer, finding it early may mean it’s easier to treat.
