✨ A GENTLE REMINDER ✨
(I’ve personally been working on this myself of late and felt called to speak on it)
❌ We do not have to be positive all of the time❌
It’s exhausting for one!
I’m here to tell you,
You are allowed to feel angry.
You are allowed to feel sad.
You are allowed to grieve.
You are allowed to feel hurt, disappointed, frustrated, overwhelmed and generally fed up with absolutely everything!!
Somewhere along the way, many of us were taught that being spiritual means being “love and light” all the time,
(thanks to Kali Yantra for the video you sent me yesterday as this has been coming up for me for ages and you’re video was confirmation I needed to speak out about it)
True healing isn’t about suppressing emotions!!!
It’s about allowing yourself to feel them, understand them, and move through them. It’s about acknowledging what your thinking, feeling and honouring yourself as you move through them,, holding yourself and being kind to yourself and also reaching out and being honest with those around you and saying do you know what today I’m actually not ok!! We need to stop feeling ashamed for how we’re feeling as if it’s something bad and negative, we need to start getting more honest with ourselves and those around us and setting an example to our kids and their kids that it’s ok to not have everything figured out all the time, in order to teach them that they don’t have to carry everything alone!
We’re programmed that it’s wrong to feel fed up, depressed, and pi**ed off with everything life throws at us, so most of us don’t even really know what we’re feeling anymore and when we do we feel guilty for it!
What do we even actually know or understand about ourselves? we’re so conditioned to do for everyone else (which is great btw but in order to do for others we need to be looking after us too)
So let’s talk about what our emotions are trying to tell us?
Your anger may be showing you where a boundary is needed.
Your sadness may be asking for compassion.
Your grief may simply need space to be witnessed.
Every emotion has a message.
We’re programmed to keep going regardless, programmed to GET ON WITH IT, SUCK IT UP, focus on the positive yada yada yada but what if some days we can’t??? Well I’m here to tell you that’s ok!
You are not failing because you’re struggling.
You are human and I think society has programmed us to forget that!
We’re human beings living a very real human experience and sometimes that experience is bloody painful and we’re allowed to feel that and express it!!
What’s one emotion you’ve been giving yourself permission to feel lately? 💚
For me it’s grief and anger lots of anger!! But underneath the anger is sadness so I’ve been working on nurturing my little inner child/teenager who’s been programmed to think it’s wrong to be angry and to honour how she’s feeling ❤️
