Some recent wins at Rise 🙏 . During our last group session we received some gorgeous feedback which makes us happy , it’s why we do what we do . A lovely 9 year old boy with ASD, ADHD, and Dsypraxia who had not been able to attend school or groups due to anger , impulsivity and struggling to concentrate joined us. We saw the opposite of anger , yes he struggled to concentrate at times but we get it , he’s got a busy mind , that what busy minds do . He struggled with impulsivity during the first Reiki and meditation but by session 4 he could rest , and fully engage looking so peaceful and relaxed . He asked if he could come back as this was the first time he had ever made friends and felt accepted by a group for being able to be himself. ❤️

Another young boy with similar difficulties who had never been able to attend 1 to 1 sessions or groups due to anxiety and social communication difficulties attended a private Reiki session. It was very difficult for mum to even get him through the door , he wanted to leave . At Rise we have no pressure or targets to meet so we can work at people’s pace . It was obvious this young person had no trust so we worked on that first and their body was so tense there was no way he was going to relax . After just 3 sessions of us building trust , he was able to softern and engage in a short meditation Session. Most neurodivergent kids are very sensitive to the likes of energy and sound so we work differently with shorter sessions. Mums feedback was that he enjoyed it , wanted to come back for more , and had been able to spend time with friends without becoming dysregulated which was a big thing .

At Rise we have over 40 years of working as children and adolescents mental health nurses,so we have vast experience of holding space . This is why what we offer is so unique we combine our nursing experience with holistic therapeutic interventions.

We are open for referrals for both group and individual work , please see previous posts for information how you can refer .

Referrals are now open for our next group and 1 to 1 Reiki sessions . Please email [email protected] with your contact details and we will send a brief referral form .

Please share with anyone who you think may benefit .

Thanks to the generous funding from Wirral CVSand The Stephen Beard Foundation, we are able to offer this current project completely free of charge, ensuring that finances are not a barrier to support.

This project will offer a safe, non-clinical space at the RISE Young Minds Sanctuary for children and young people aged 8–17 who are struggling with their mental and emotional health.

All appropriate referrals will be offered an initial mental health consultation to ensure the service is suitable. If we do not think our service best meets the young persons needs. Then we will signpost to a more appropriate service. With your consent, if a child is already open to another mental health service, we will consult with that team and where appropriate work alongside side them.

1 to 1 Reiki and Relaxation sessions are held at Positivity Club CIC Hoylake between 10 and 3 Mondays from the 7th of September . Parents remain with the young person ( and usually join in the meditation 🥰 )

🎒 Starting school is a huge milestone.

It can be an exciting time, but it's completely normal for children (and parents!) to have a few worries too.

Our Starting School Workshop is designed to help children feel more confident as they prepare for this exciting new adventure. Through fun activities, we'll explore making new friends, building confidence and talking about any worries they might have about starting school.

It's also a lovely opportunity to visit our brand new hub before the school term begins.

If your child is starting school this September, we'd love to welcome them along! 💛

This week, Jess held the space and led a fantastic TIPP skills session, teaching the children ways to settle the nervous system for emotional regulation. At Rise, we invite the children to feel comfortable to be their unique, beautiful selves. So, it was lovely to receive feedback from the mum of a lovely 8-year-old boy who, due to ADHD symptoms, has not been able to attend school. We are so proud that he has been able to attend every session with no concerns and has asked to come again as he has enjoyed attending so much. He had also been independently using his toolkit in between sessions when he was feeling overwhelmed. In the first session, he struggled to sit still and engage in the meditation, which is fine, as we work with this. But in the following sessions, he was able to fully relax and engage in the meditation and Reiki, even falling asleep.

We still have spaces on the next group program that starts 23rd June at 1230 for 4 weeks, and some one-to-one sessions on Mondays between 10 and 2 are available. Please comment or email for referral details

Look who came and joined our circle and lay down with the children as they received Reiki and meditated ❤️. What an absolute blessing. It's week 3 of our group. One parent shared, 'I just want to thank you, as he came home bouncing, in a great mood, laughing. He said he felt so much better than before the session and found it so relaxing that he fell asleep.' This is a lovely young man who always looks visibly tense and rigid in social settings. It was lovely to see him soften and smile during the Reiki. Again, at the end of the session, when we told the children it had finished, they didn't move from the mat, so relaxed, not wanting to leave. All children were reporting regular feelings of anxiety, overwhelm, and anger. So to hear them able to share these experiences without shame with other peers who have lived experience made us really proud. Each shared that they felt better afterward and were looking forward to returning.

We still have spaces on the next group program that starts 23rd June at 1230 for 4 weeks, and some one-to-one sessions on Mondays between 10 and 2 are available. Please comment or email for referral details. 🙏
