Hi everyone!
As many of you know, I’m building up my health advocacy work and sharing my writing on Substack while my website is being finalised.

I write about chronic pain management, nervous system care, current health research, and navigating systemic bias as a patient and advocate. Also, about life and current affairs through a Black woman's lense.

If you or someone you know is living with chronic discomfort or fighting for better care, I’d love for you to give it a read, like, comment, share and subscribe!

Namaste,
Understanding Fibromyalgia; A Simple Guide to Causes and Symptoms.

If you live with fibromyalgia, or support someone who does, you’ve probably seen the endless stream of conflicting advice online.

It’s hard to know what’s actually backed by science and what’s just social media noise.

I wrote my latest Substack article, "Understanding Fibromyalgia: A Simple Guide to Causes and Symptoms," to offer clear, evidence-based answers.

As a former college lecturer, a Health, Pain & Wellbeing Coach, and a Sports Therapist (BSc), my priority is always grounded science. I’ve dedicated the past three years to continuous learning through certified training with leading bodies like the London Osteopathic Society, Emerge Australia, the Personalised Care Institute, and the International Society of Intraoperative Neurophysiology.

I created this guide to strip away the jargon and fake remedies, leaving you with simple, reliable information on what’s actually happening in the body.

Namaste,
"Here is something nobody tells you when you are in the middle of a flare up.

Your brain is not just reacting to what is happening to your body. It is also being shaped by it. Every day. Quietly. Without asking your permission.

The thoughts you think most often, especially the hard, heavy, painful ones, are actually carving pathways through your brain. Like a path worn through a field, that flattened grass. The more you walk it, the deeper it gets. The easier it becomes to walk it again, even when you do not want to."

If you or someone you care about lives with persisitent and chronic pain, here is how you can learn what their body is trying to tell them. You will find simple ways to feel better and learn how to practice them every day until they become easy habits!

Namaste,
A week ago, I sat down to write a piece on flash flooding and how to cope if you are living with a chronic health condition knowing that eventually, the skies would open up.

Fast forward to today, and we’ve just had intense thunderstorms here in Brum, and the clouds were seriously crying heavy tears. 🌩️🌧️

My granddaughter's athletic training has been rescheduled, she came to mine looking like a soaked sponge, bless her.

My heart goes out to anyone dealing with the sudden downpours. I truly hope local areas were prepared and that no one has to endure the unsettling, overwhelming experience of dealing with flood damage.

If you're navigating the heavy weather right now, or just want to feel prepared for the unexpected, I’ve put together a gentle guide on coping when the waters rise.

Stay safe, stay dry, and check on your neighbours and your street tonight. 🤍

How to Protect Your Home from Summer Floods 🌧️

Namaste,
Summer heatwaves bring sunny days and ice cream! But when a long, hot summer suddenly ends, the weather often swaps bright sunshine for heavy summer rainstorms.

You might think super dry ground absorbs rain like a giant sponge, but it actually does the opposite.

When soil gets baked by the sun for weeks, it turns hard like concrete. The water can’t soak in fast enough, so it slides across the ground and can cause sudden flash floods.

The good news? You, your family, and anyone living with chronic health conditions or pain can prepare step-by-step, without overexerting yourself!

Do you want to prepare for possible flash flooding?
