World Su***de Prevention Day is a reminder that talking matters. By creating spaces where people feel able to speak openly, listening without judgement and looking out for one another, we can help challenge stigma and encourage people to seek support when they need it 💛

Our staff share what recovery means to them. We’ve asked staff from across our services to reflect on recovery in their own words.

Our Gambling Service staff describe recovery as a 'fresh start' a chance to rebuild, reset, and move forward. We recognise that everyone’s recovery journey is different, and each story is powerful in its own way.

At Aquarius, we’re here to support you every step of the way💜

Our teams attended this year’s Recovery Fest, celebrating strength, connection and the incredible journeys behind recovery proudly led by BAC O'Connor Centres alongside many other drug and alcohol services.

There was a wonderful atmosphere throughout the day, with people sharing their experiences, supporting one another, and celebrating the positive changes recovery can bring. It was inspiring to see so many individuals, families, professionals, and community organisations united with a shared message of hope, connection, and resilience.

"It was fantastic to see so many people enjoying the sunshine at Uttoxeter Racecourse while coming together to celebrate recovery. Events like this are a powerful reminder that recovery is real, possible, and looks different for everyone"

Thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a success. Here's to continuing to break down stigma, raise awareness, and celebrate every recovery journey. 💜

Learning how to manage your urges can help you channel cravings in healthier ways. Try making positive choices like starting like

- A new activity,
- Picking up a hobby,
- Exercising or reading.

Small steps like these can support you throughout your recovery journey

This Recovery Month, we’re keeping the music playing. 🎶

Our Young People’s Services theme, “Keep the Music Playing”, is all about recognising that recovery is a journey. It’s about moving forward, finding your own rhythm and taking things one step at a time.

Throughout the month, we’ll be sharing creative work from our young people, exploring their experiences, stories and perspectives on recovery through music, art, poetry and more. 💙

Recognising your triggers and early warning signs is an important part of looking after yourself, not just during Recovery Month but long after. This month, we’re encouraging everyone to take a moment to notice what helps them feel steady and supported, and what might make things feel a bit harder. Understanding yourself is a real strength. It helps you stay grounded and keep moving forward on your journey.

We’ll be sharing tips and guidance throughout Recovery Month to help you stay aligned, supported and checked‑in with your wellbeing.✨

This International Overdose Awareness Day, we’re sharing Christian’s story💙

Christian first came to Ngage with Aquarius for support as a young teenager. Over the following years, his substance use escalated, and he experienced some incredibly difficult times.

Sharing stories like this are important. They can help challenge stigma, encourage conversations and remind others that support is available and recovery IS possible!

This bank holiday, you are not alone 💙 Although some services may be closed over the weekend, support is still available if you need it.

Heading to Notting Hill Carnival, Leeds Carnival or any festivals this bank holiday? A few quick tips to help you look after yourself and your friends:

- Stay hydrated.

- Keep an eye on your friends.

- Don’t feel pressured to drink or take anything just because others are.

- If you’re drinking, pace yourself and give yourself breaks. Alternate between drinks.

- If you feel unwell after taking something, tell someone you trust and get help. Don’t leave someone who is unwell on their own.

- Keep your phone charged so you can stay in contact and get help if you need it.

- Know your limits and listen to your body. If something doesn’t feel right, take a break and find a safe place to get support.

Have fun, look out for each other and make memories 💙✨
