Greenhill Genealogy is owned by myself, Liz Palmer, a qualified genealogist having graduated in 2013 with a Postgraduate Diploma in Genealogical, Palaeographic and Heraldic Studies from the University of Strathclyde. I had 8 years of experience working in Archives and Heritage at the Library of Birmingham (formerly Birmingham Central Library) assisting customers on a wide range of family and local
history matters. My own family history researches include a dynasty of Ag Labs on the Palmer line, shoe manufacturers amongst the Hodgkins family, butchers and confectioners on the Morgan side and vicars, civil servants, military officers, merchants, privateers and even a couple of Crimean nurses in the Bandinel/Le Mesurier family. The latter had origins in the Channel Islands but their varied activities took them to every continent. I now underte research on a freelance basis for a range of clients predominantly focusing on Birmingham and West Midlands records. In addition I have researched into the outcomes for several children migrated to Canada in the 19th Century by Middlemore Homes. My central location means that I am ideally situated for visiting any of the record offices and archives within the West Midlands including Birmingham, the Black Country, Warwick, Worcester and Stafford/Lichfield. I also visit the National Archives and am a member of the British Library.
