Well done, Team B*H 🎉

Joining more than 1000 fellow competitors at this year's British Transplant Games, Team B*H were cheered on by their families and loved ones as they competed in events ranging from swimming and badminton to running and the long jump.

Over the four days, our superstars brought home an incredible 80 medals, 37 of which were gold🏅 and won the title of 'Best Children's Team' 🎉

But of course, the most important part was raising awareness and saying 'thank you' to donor families, who selflessly agree to offer the Gift of Life to others.❤️

🌟 Our Team B*H superstars are having the best time at this year's British Transplant Games in Sheffield. Thanks to our Charity for the support. We're already on the penultimate day of competition and have won lots of medals. Most importantly, there have also been plenty of smiles as our children, all of whom have been given given the Gift of Life, have showcased the awesome power of organ donation. Here's Leo, Dylan, William, Jake and Keshini with their bling. Just two minutes of your time now could transform or save up to nine lives in the future. We held our EnjoyArt summer arts festival this week - and what a week it’s been! 🎨✨

We’ve loved bringing colour, creativity, and plenty of smiles to both of our hospitals with a wide variety of activities and workshops. There’s been garden games, family picnics and plenty of treats (including ice cream and samosas!).

We’ve loved seeing patients, families and staff come together to get creative and have some fun. This week, they’ve seen…

🎨 Craft workshops with Real Arts Workshops
🎤 BSL sign-singalong
🖌️ Graffiti art with artist Mohammed Ali from Soul City Arts
🌸 Rangoli art with You Be You
💃 Bhangra dance workshops with Sohan Kailey
✂️ Creative crafts with Purple Hill Prints and Zunaira from Sampad

EnjoyArt is funded by our charity, helping bring creativity and energy to our hospitals to make them brighter and happier places.

“I’ve been through the [transplant] process three times now and it was only on the third time that we had the HOPE machine. I think it’s really changed the game for liver transplants and I hope it really helps people in the future.” - Harry, 15

The VitaSmart HOPE Perfusion Machine is revolutionising liver transplant surgery ✨

Using charitable funds, we were able to purchase the VitaSmart HOPE Perfusion Machine. Hear from the families of our patients whose lives have been saved by the HOPE machine, including young Elijah, who was the first ever paediatric patient in the UK to use it. ❤️

Designed to revolutionise liver transplant surgery, the Hypothermic Oxygenated Perfusion (HOPE) machine helps preserve donor livers or longer by delivering oxygen before transplantation, supporting improved organ quality and patient outcomes.

Good luck, Team B*H 🎉 ❤️

"It’s an amazingly busy few days, but it really is magical. The atmosphere is another level. It’s almost impossible to explain to someone who hasn’t been fortunate to attend before."

Our Team B*H superstars are heading to Yorkshire this weekend to take part in the British Transplant Games - a special event to raise awareness and say thank you to live donors and donor families who have given others the 'Gift of Life'.

They'll be joining around 1000 competitors of all ages for more than 20 events, including track and field, cycling and swimming.

Brave Marney was born with a unilateral cleft lip and gum notch. ❤️

She had her lip repair at our hospital in January this year and is thriving.

Her mum shared: “From the moment we were introduced to the cleft team at B*H, we were instantly reassured and cared for. Being young parents, we had lots of worries, but with the support of our families and the team at B*H, we were really put at ease.

"The care we had at the hospital was phenomenal. In particular, our cleft nurse Gail, Marney’s surgeon Ms Echlin, and her nurse Blessing went above and beyond; nothing was too much of an ask. We are forever grateful to Marney’s cleft team, and they will always hold a special place in our hearts.”

Feeling the magic? Gloworm Festival is this weekend and we're thrilled that they've chosen us as their charity partner this year. 🎈

Held from 7-9 August in Thoresby Park, Nottinghamshire, this incredible, family-friendly event offers a weekend of music, workshops and interactive performances for young children and their families, and we couldn’t be more delighted to have partnered with them this year.

Even better, your tickets will be giving back to our hospital, generating a 10% donation to our charity, and helping us continue to support our brave patients and their families.

We'll be there all weekend joining in the fun, so come and say hello! 🌟
