Home Instead Central Birmingham has been operating since April 2009. The business was set up by Terry Cheung, who after personal experience caring for family members, decided that there must be a way to provide practical and excellent quality care for older people. Home Instead Senior Care are committed to making a difference. We regard it as a special privilege to look after people with love, car

e and compassion - and we take our responsibilities very seriously indeed. Our ethos is simple – treat others as we would wish to be treated ourselves. Each and every one of our clients has a care plan tailored specifically to their own needs. Whether it’s a trip to the park for some fresh air, a visit to the hairdressers, some help around the house or assistance with shopping, right through to medication reminders and post-operative support or respite care we are here to help. We also provide a range of specialist services, which include Alzheimer’s and dementia care, convalescence care and respite care. What’s more, we take time to carefully match our caregivers to clients so that they share common areas of interest and can form an immediate bond. We only employ the most caring, considerate and empathetic caregivers – people to whom making a difference to the lives of others is important. It is for this reason that we enjoy long-lasting relationships with our clients. Our caregivers are carefully selected, are CRB checked and have to provide six references. The Edgbaston Home Instead Senior Care Office is part of a global network of more than 975 locally owned and operated offices.

What a wonderful afternoon we had celebrating Eid together! 🌙✨

Last Friday, we were delighted to bring our clients, Care Professionals, and team together for a special Eid celebration filled with laughter, friendship, and community spirit.

Guests enjoyed delicious food, beautiful henna painting, music, and dancing, making it a truly memorable occasion for everyone involved.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so special. We loved celebrating together and creating lasting memories with our Home Instead family.

Frailty can be a daunting issue when caring for an older loved one, especially when falls become a concern.

Falls are one of the biggest risks linked to frailty and can lead to serious injury, loss of confidence, and reduced independence.

The good news is that many falls can be prevented with simple steps at home:

- Keep active to improve strength and balance
- Keep the home safe by removing trip hazards and improving lighting
- Keep well by staying on top of health checks and reviewing medications
- Keep nourished with a balanced diet and plenty of fluids
