Behind every confident clinical decision is hours of reading, reviewing, and questioning the evidence.

Research doesn't just fill journals - it shapes the care we deliver every day. Every paper reviewed is another opportunity to improve outcomes for the patients who depend on us.

📚 Evidence informs practice. Patients benefit.

✨ Delighted and deeply honoured to have been awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP), London.

Five years ago, I passed the Respiratory Specialty Exit Examination (SCE). Two years ago, I achieved my dual Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Respiratory and General Internal Medicine. Since then, I have had the privilege of serving as a Respiratory Consultant and NIV Service Lead at University Hospitals Birmingham, while continuing to pursue research, medical education, leadership, and service development.

Today, I am incredibly grateful to receive the Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians, London.

Many describe FRCP as a career milestone. Others see it as another achievement or a box to tick. For me, it is neither.

It is a stepping stone.

A reminder that every achievement brings greater responsibility - to keep learning, to challenge myself, to contribute to research and innovation, to mentor the next generation of clinicians, and above all, to provide the very best care for my patients.

None of this would have been possible without the support of my family, mentors, colleagues, and friends, for whom I am sincerely grateful.

The journey doesn’t end with FRCP. If anything, it has just become even more meaningful. Here’s to the next chapter.

“Feeling tired" isn't always the full picture.

Obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) can affect alertness, concentration, and reaction time - making early identification especially important in safety-critical professions.

Our study explored whether combining four simple screening tools could improve the detection of OSA in UK train drivers.

Rather than relying on a single questionnaire, using multiple evidence-based screening methods provided a more practical and cost-effective approach to identifying those at higher risk.

This research highlights an important principle in clinical practice: better decisions often come from combining the right tools, not adding unnecessary complexity.

Sometimes, improving patient safety starts with improving how we screen.

Every patient deserves more than a diagnosis, they deserve understanding.

Whether discussing test results, explaining treatment options, or planning long-term care, meaningful conversations remain at the heart of respiratory medicine.

Knowledge shared with compassion creates better outcomes.

That's what drives evidence-based practice.

Sometimes it's standing over a table at the end of a long shift - staring at scans, questioning every option, carrying the weight of someone's life in your hands.

And still showing up. Every single time.

Comfort zones are comfortable, but they rarely lead to growth.

As healthcare professionals, we owe it to ourselves and our patients to keep learning, keep improving, and keep challenging our limits. Every step outside your comfort zone is a step toward becoming a better clinician and a better version of yourself.
