Merwood Care Home The Merwood is a pleasant and luxurious rest home situated on the Promenade in the quiet village Of Bispham Blackpool.

We offer a high standard of quality care in an idyllic setting for the senior citizen. Please visit our website for more information. The Merwood is an established registered Care Home for older people which has operated from 1989.The home is a detached property situated on the Promenade at Bispham, very close to local shops and amenities .To the front of the Home is a drive way leading to a car parking area, there is also a paved garden area with feature planting .To the rear of the Home is a delightful walled garden with a large pond and a garden. The Home accommodates 16 people using the service for older person. The accommodation comprises of 14 single bedrooms and 1 double room arranged over two floors, along with a mezzanine level, with all bedrooms having the benefit of en-suite facilities. There are two large lounges and a very pleasant dining room .The home has sufficient communal toilet and bathing facilities .Ramps are situated at the front and rear of the home enable people using the service and visitors to enter and exit the home safely

This is very well deserved and recognises the hard work, commitment and support Josh continues to give to our residents and the whole Merwood team.

I’m really pleased to have Josh stepping into the Deputy Manager role and supporting me as we continue moving Merwood forward.

🎸❤️ A Special Surprise for Steven! ❤️🎸

Our lovely staff member Sue recently went to Wembley Stadium in London to see Bon Jovi: The Forever Tour! 🤘🎶

Knowing that our resident Steven is also a huge Bon Jovi fan, Sue very kindly bought him his very own tour T-shirt as a special gift.

And as you can see, Steven was absolutely delighted with it! 😍 He proudly wore his new T-shirt yesterday and made sure he showed it off to everyone around the home! 🎸

Steven would like to say a BIG thank you to Sue for thinking of him and for such a kind and generous gesture. ❤️

It’s the little acts of kindness and knowing what matters to the people we care for that can make someone’s day that extra bit special.

Today we continued our Tell Us Your Story initiative at Merwood, going around the room and sharing special memories from our lives. 💭

There were smiles, laughter and some lovely moments as we took the time not only to share our own stories, but to really listen to one another.

At one point, we looked around the room and smiled at each other. We reminded ourselves that we are all here together, sharing these moments, these memories and these chapters from our lives. ❤️

Every person in that room has a lifetime of stories, and sometimes all it takes is a question and someone willing to listen.

At Merwood, we fight loneliness with togetherness. 🫶

Today at Merwood, we're continuing our Tell Us Your Story initiative with a little trip through Royal history!

Our residents have been enjoying a documentary about Queen Elizabeth II and the Royal Family, but rather than simply watching, it's got everyone talking, reminiscing and sharing their own memories. ❤️

For many of our residents, Queen Elizabeth II was a familiar figure throughout most of their lives. They've lived through Coronations, Royal weddings, Jubilees, celebrations and countless moments of Royal history.

And that's what Tell Us Your Story is all about. Sometimes all it takes is a photograph, a song, a familiar face or a television programme to bring a memory flooding back. 🥰

💃🎶 BE MORE CHRISTINE! 🎶💃

The weather outside might be windy and grey… but that doesn’t mean we can’t make our own sunshine here at Merwood! ☀️

For Christine, music and dancing have always been a big part of life. She has spent many happy years enjoying dance, moving to music and feeling the rhythm — and that love of music certainly hasn’t gone anywhere! ❤️

Here at Merwood, we believe the things that have brought someone happiness throughout their life should continue to be part of their days with us.

So when the music starts, we share that passion with Christine. Whether it’s dancing together, tapping our feet, stamping to the beat or simply sitting back and feeling the music… we enjoy it together. 🎵🥰
Because sometimes you don’t need a dance floor.

You just need a favourite song, a good beat and the willingness to enjoy the moment. 💃🎶
And Christine certainly knows how to do that!
