👀 Eyes down! 👀

We had our bingo afternoon yesterday and what a fantastic time we had! 🎉

There were plenty of laughs, friendly competition, and great company throughout the session. It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying themselves, connecting with others, and sharing some fun together.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us—we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did! 💚

At Acorns, it’s not just about the game; it’s about bringing people together, building friendships, and creating positive memories in a safe and welcoming space.

During one of our previous sessions Blaby Drop In Centre - Blaby & Glen Parva Community Service, we spent time planting seeds.

One of our attendees has been carefully nurturing their seeds, and they are growing beautifully 🌱

🪴Planting seeds can have many positive benefits for wellbeing. It encourages mindfulness by helping people slow down, focus on the present moment, and connect with nature. The simple act of planting, watering, and caring for seeds can create a sense of calm and reduce stress and anxiety

🌸Watching something grow over time can also provide a sense of achievement, hope, and purpose. Nurturing plants encourages patience and routine, which can be especially beneficial during difficult periods or when managing low mood

🌿Being involved in planting together can strengthen social connections, encourage conversation, and create shared positive experiences. Even small moments spent with soil, plants, and nature can help people feel more grounded, relaxed, and emotionally refreshed🌻

Acorns group had a great afternoon yesterday (Monday 18th May) having a leisurely walk from Bouskell Park, through the cemetery, Mill Lane and back into Blaby centre for a well deserved cuppa and cake at Insomnia Cafe

We all felt better for our lovely walk in nature. Left our stresses behind and switched off.

And a bit of tree hugging 🌳 🤣

At Acorns we've been in the Blaby Drop In Centre - Blaby & Glen Parva Community Service Garden planting seeds, herbs, tomatoes, and sunflowers.

Planting seeds can support wellbeing in many ways, encouraging mindfulness and focus while creating a calming connection with nature. Spending time with soil and plants can help reduce stress levels, lower cortisol, and boost feel-good hormones, promoting a greater sense of peace and positivity.
