π©Έ "I thought it was just a dodgy bladder."
That's how Brian's prostate cancer journey began.
Recently, at the Lancashire & South Cumbria Cancer Alliance Early Diagnosis of Prostate Cancer Workshop, we had the privilege of meeting Brian and hearing his story firsthand.
Like many men, Brian put his symptoms down to something minor. But when he finally spoke to his GP, a series of routine tests, including a PSA blood test, revealed prostate cancer.
The good news? It was caught early.
Thanks to early diagnosis and treatment, Brian is now cancer-free and passionate about encouraging other men to get checked.
What really struck us was how simple the first step was. A PSA test is just a blood test. It takes minutes, but it can start a conversation that could ultimately save a life.
Brian has since encouraged friends to get tested too, with several receiving early diagnoses and treatment because they took action.
His message is simple:
π Check it. Don't chance it.
Take a few minutes to read Brian's story below and consider who in your life might benefit from hearing it.
π₯ Like this post, share it, and tag a dad, brother, husband, son, uncle, friend or colleague. You never know who might see it and decide to get checked.
