A huge thank you to Timpson Ltd for their generous donation of fostering books to our service.

Based on John Timpson CBE's family's real-life experience of fostering more than 90 children, these books, including 'A Guide to Attachment' and 'Looking After Looked After Children', are a fantastic resource for anyone beginning their fostering journey.

We'll be sharing these with our applicants during Prepare to Foster training, helping them build their knowledge and confidence as they prepare to make a difference in a local child's life💛

We're incredibly proud to work in partnership with Blackpool Council following their Outstanding Ofsted report! 🌟

The report highlights what every child deserves:

"Children in care live in suitable homes, where they are integrated into the family's or the home's life, enabling a sense of belonging and stability."

That's exactly what fostering is all about. When you foster with Blackpool Council, you're opening your home and your heart, helping a child feel safe, valued and part of a family.

A huge congratulations to everyone involved in this fantastic achievement, it's a reflection of the dedication shown every day to children and foster families across Blackpool 🩷

Our children's services are OUTSTANDING!

We are thrilled to share that Ofsted have given us some incredible ratings for our work. They've said that our services for children in care and services for care leavers are both outstanding, that the impact of leaders on social work practice is outstanding, and that services for children who need help and protection are good.

A majority outstanding rating is no small feat – in the north west, there’s only us and Manchester to be regarded so highly.

There's so much in the report to be proud of. The headlines include that:

💬 Children’s voices are valued
🤝 Children enjoy long-lasting and “strong, trusting” relationships with professionals
📈 Investment in workforce development is improving delivery
❤️ There is a “genuine, caring culture” across our children's services team

We couldn't be prouder of our team - their work is truly transformational - and all the children, young people and families they support. This rating is for them.

Through immersive VR scenarios, you'll explore:

• The impact of experiences before birth and in the womb.
• How trauma can influence behaviour.
• Therapeutic parenting from the child's perspective.

By helping you see beyond behaviours, VR builds empathy and confidence, preparing you for your fostering journey.

Over the past three days, Christine has been out and about meeting people at dedicated career support events in Accrington and at Blackburn Telephone Exchange.

These events were organised to support employees who are currently exploring new career opportunities, and it was a fantastic chance to introduce people to the rewarding role of fostering.

It was brilliant to meet so many people, have some great conversations, and see lots of interest in fostering 💛
