Supporting a bereaved child or young person can feel overwhelming. π Some children become quieter. Some may feel angry or anxious. Others might find it difficult to talk about how theyβre feeling.
The Wave Project is a new, free service for children, young people and families across Blackburn with Darwen.
Our 8-week group programmes support children and young people aged 5β18 (up to 25 with additional needs) who have experienced the death of someone important to them.
Through age-appropriate activities, young people can explore their feelings, understand grief, develop ways to cope and spend time with others who have been through similar experiences.
Thereβs support for parents and carers too, because we know you may be trying to support your child while navigating your own grief.

There is no right or wrong way to grieve. You and your family donβt have to navigate it alone.
