🎓 Congratulations to future midwives 🎓
A recent celebration event recognised the hard work and dedication of midwifery students as they completed their final placements at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals.
The event, organised by the Practice Education team, brought together colleagues, practice supervisors, assessors and university partners to celebrate students from the University of Lancashire and Edge Hill University.
Having completed their final placement, they were able to celebrate the hard work and dedication shown throughout their studies before they receive their qualification.
The students were a mix of the three-year course and already-qualified nurses completing the top-up course to become dual qualified.
During their programmes they have balanced academic study and demanding clinical placements to develop the knowledge, skills and compassion they need to provide safe and high-quality care.
At the event they were able to reflect on achievements, share memories of their learning experiences and recognise the support they received along their journey.
Sarah Heaton, Practice Education Facilitator for Midwifery and Quality, said: “Reaching this significant milestone is a huge achievement that reflects the hard work, resilience and determination they have shown throughout their course.
“As they prepare to join the profession as registered midwives, we are incredibly proud of all they have accomplished.
“Congratulations to our soon-to-be qualified midwives and thank you to everyone who has supported them on their journey.”
