🚧 Watson Road Junction – Temporary Closure Update 🚧

If you're travelling to the practice over the next couple of weeks, please be aware of ongoing roadworks at the Watson Road junction as part of the St Annes Road improvement scheme.

Due to a water pipe leak further along St Annes Road, the work programme has been adjusted to allow United Utilities to carry out repairs. To help keep the overall project on track, work at the Watson Road junction has been brought forward.

📅 Closure dates:
🔸 Thursday 6 August & Friday 7 August – Junction closed for carriageway planing works
🔸 Saturday 8 August & Sunday 9 August – Junction reopens for the Air Show weekend
🔸 Monday 10 August to Friday 21 August – Junction closes again while further works are completed

🚗 During the closures, vehicles will only be able to travel southbound on St Annes Road. All other approaches and exits at the junction will be closed.

Alternative routes: ➡️ Marton Drive southbound – via Watson Road and Hawes Side Lane
➡️ Watson Road westbound – via Marton Drive
➡️ Watson Road eastbound – via Beverley Grove

Please allow extra time for your journey if you have an appointment at the practice.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while these essential improvements are carried out. 🙏

🚧 Watson Road junction temporary closure 🚧

Please be advised of a temporary closure of the Watson Road junction as part of the ongoing St Annes Road improvement works.

Due to a water pipe leak further along St Annes Road, the programme of works has been adjusted to allow United Utilities to complete repairs. Bringing forward work at the Watson Road junction allows the team to continue working in areas that remain accessible, helping to keep the overall project on schedule.

The junction will be closed today and tomorrow (Thursday 6 August and Friday 7 August) while carriageway planing works are carried out. During these works, the road surface will be reduced to a depth that is unsuitable for vehicles to drive over.

The junction will be reopened on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 August to accommodate increased traffic during the Air Show weekend.

The junction will then close again from Monday 10 August until Friday 21 August to allow further works to be completed safely.

During the closure periods, vehicles will only be able to travel southbound on St Annes Road, maintaining the existing one-way system across the junction. All other approaches and exits will be closed.

Alternative routes:
➡️ Marton Drive southbound – via Watson Road and Hawes Side Lane
➡️ Watson Road westbound – via Marton Drive
➡️ Watson Road eastbound – via Beverley Grove

Road closure signage will remain in place to guide road users throughout the works.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank road users for their patience while we carry out these essential improvements.

🚗 Watson Road eastbound – via Beverley Grove

Road closure signs are in place to help guide motorists.

If you are travelling to the practice, please allow extra time for your journey and plan your route accordingly.

📢 Could You Be a ‘Ghost Patient’? 📢

We are asking all patients to keep their registration details up to date to help ensure you remain registered with the practice and continue to receive important NHS communications.

A ‘ghost patient’ is someone who may be incorrectly removed from their GP practice list because their details cannot be confirmed during NHS patient list validation checks. NHS England or Primary Care Support England (PCSE) may contact you as part of this routine process.

✅ If you receive a letter from NHS England or PCSE, please do not ignore it. • Follow the instructions provided. • Check and confirm your details are correct. • Let us know as soon as possible if you have moved address.

Keeping your details up to date helps:
✔️ Ensure you stay registered with your GP practice.
✔️ Make sure you receive NHS communications, such as screening invitations and vaccination reminders.
✔️ Help the practice receive the correct funding to provide care for registered patients.

⚠️ If you do not respond to a PCSE verification letter, you could be removed from the practice list without realising it and may need to re-register before you can book GP appointments.

If you have friends or family who have not contacted their GP practice for several years, please encourage them to check that their details are up to date.

If you need any help, please contact the practice.
