🏃♂️ 105 miles. 38 hours and 52 minutes. £2,765 raised. One incredible achievement. 🩵
A huge congratulations to Jon Villaggio, a Plaster Technician at Blackpool Victoria Hospital, who has successfully completed the legendary Lakeland 100 while raising an amazing £2,765 for Blue Skies Hospitals Fund.
Jon crossed the finish line at 8:52am on Sunday 26 July, completing one of the UK's toughest endurance events in an incredible 38 hours and 52 minutes.
Battling injury, rain, fog, sleep deprivation and the emotional challenge of running through the night, Jon dug deep to make it to the finish line.
Reflecting on the experience, Jon said: 💬 "I loved it, hated it, loved it."
After injuring himself around 30 miles into the race and facing some difficult solo miles overnight, Jon found the strength to keep going, helped by seeing his family at the halfway point and the support of fellow runners along the way.
💬 "It was unbelievable, I can't believe I did it. I met loads of amazing people."
We're also incredibly grateful to Appletree Finance, who helped fund the specialist equipment Jon needed and supported him throughout the challenge.
