🌿🌿Meet one of my plants in my garden 🌿🌿
🥬 HOLLY
Our Holly has been part of our garden since before we moved into our house (9 years ago).
A bit of a backstory: in my last house, I had a beautiful variegated holly tree at the bottom of my garden, which I always felt stood as a nature guardian over our home. So when I left, I was quite sad to leave it. but also understood that the next person who lived there would benefit from its energy. So I vowed to get myself another as a dedication to my old friend.
When we moved in, I took stock of what plants were in our new garden, and I was highly delighted to see this beautiful Holly in a giant pot just sitting there, with its welcoming presence.
Fast forward a few years: after we built my cabin, we moved her to her new place opposite my working space, and there she sat. Last year, for some reason, she began to shed all of her leaves; this I had never witnessed before, and we tried everything we could to try and prevent this, but alas, they all fell, and she looked like a shadow of her former self. I thought she had died.
My friend suggested we cut her right back and give her a good feed with new mulch; this is what we did, and soon afterwards new leaves and branches began to grow until this new, healthy reborn version appeared, looking a lot healthier than she did before.
Highly delighted that she had returned, every time I look at her, she makes me realise that even when things go so wrong in our lives, never give up, because that fall sometimes prepares the ground for a new, healthier beginning and fresh start.
Now, when I look at her and see her strength and resilience. It makes me smile every day. 🥬🦋🌟😁
