Liberty Care Limited

Liberty Care Limited Liberty Care Limited is a Domiciliary Supported Living Service that provides specialist support and accomodation to adults with varied and complex needs.

Based in Blackwood, South Wales, Liberty Care Limited is dedicated and committed to delivering the highest standards of care and support in our Supported Living Homes throughout the South Wales valleys. Liberty Care are registered with CIW as a Domiciliary Care Agency to provide services to adults from the ages of 18 to 65+ with a range of disabilities. We specialise in a wide variety of specific

needs including Learning Disabilities, Mental Health, Complex Needs, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Challenging Behaviour, Sensory Impairment, Acquired Brain Injury and Physical Disabilities amongst many more which are all tailored specifically to the individual's needs. Liberty Care was established in late 2006 when Colin & Sharon Lewis decided to offer services to individuals who needed support in accessing the community. They had a large family home in Fleur-de-lys which had outgrown them when their children became adults and left home to pursue their own lives. It was decided to transform their home in to the first Supported Living Accommodation. This was the becoming of Liberty Care. Since that day Liberty Care has grown steadily. We strive to keep our reputation for delivering the highest quality standard of care which has always been centered around our clients' changing needs. Liberty Care first started with 6 members of staff and due to our strict procedures and operations has now gone on to offer multiple separate services throughout the Gwent area with over 200 members of staff which continues to grow, thanks to our dedicated staff teams and personnel that strive to make the company that it is today. It is our mission to provide a high quality, flexible, reliable and responsive service tailored to the unique needs of each service user, to live as independently as possible, whilst promoting choice and dignity. Our services provide a very high standard of modern accommodation along with an experienced Care Team who are values based and outcome focused which sets us apart from our competitors.

Here are some good tips for surviving the hotter summer months and thinking about people’s sensory needs.

It has more of a focus on kids but information and ideas are easily transferable to adults and we all know or have kids in our families that can struggle more in the hot weather too.

Hope you like the helpful tips.

However, my favourite tip is from a person we support in Abergavenny who gave me the top tip of putting your clothes into a carrier bag and then placing them in the freezer. Hay presto - you have a chilly set of clothes to put on😊

❄️ BEST TIP EVER!!!! ❄️

Does anyone else have any tips for managing in the heat?

Here is the Royal College of OT (RCOT) occupational rights doc that was published late last year. In brief this paper recommends five occupational rights outlining occupational good practice. These rights aim to ensure that reasonable adjustments are made to support people with learning disabilities to engage in occupations that matter to them.
