🐻💎 Confession from a Crystal Bear…

Since I stopped doing the lives, I haven’t actually been back into the Crystal Bear Cave.

Not once. 😳

Which becomes slightly more ridiculous when I tell you…

IT’S ATTACHED TO MY HOUSE. 😂

And actually, there’s something quite sad about that.

Whatever you believe about crystals, I always loved being surrounded by them. I felt their energy, they lifted me, and there was something about sitting in that room surrounded by thousands of them that just made me feel good.

I’ve missed that connection more than I realised. 💎❤️

Coming back here and reconnecting with you lot has started shifting something too.

So I’ve set myself a little challenge…

Sometime in the next week or so, I’m going back into the cave. 🐻

No big comeback. No pressure. I’m just going to open the door, go in, sit with the crystals for a bit and see how it feels.

God knows what state I left it in, so thoughts, prayers and possibly a hazmat team are appreciated. 😂

The Bear is going back into the cave. ❤️💎

A little update from outside the cave… 🐻😂

Coming back here has made me realise something.

I’ve spent a ridiculous amount of my life editing myself.

Am I too loud?
Too emotional?
Too gay?
Too weird?
Too much?

Basically, I’ve been running a full-time PR department for Rich. 😂

I remember being young and my dad noticing me walking with a limp wrist and telling me not to walk like that.

Tiny moment.

But apparently my little brain went:

“Excellent. We’ll be monitoring EVERYTHING from now on.” 😂

How I walked. How I talked. What I wore. What people might think.

Eventually I found the perfect solution:

Don’t let anyone see you.

Highly effective. Would not recommend.

So being back here and actually allowing myself to be seen has been surprisingly bloody uncomfortable.

But I’m trying something radical:

Just being Rich.

I cry at films.
I’m camp.
I’m emotional.
I’m inappropriate.
I’m ridiculous.

And apparently I now post photos with breadcrumbs on my chest because that’s how I roll.

Old Rich would have deleted the photo.

New Rich thinks:

“Yeah. I ate something. There were casualties.” 😂

I’m learning that being visible doesn’t mean sharing everything. I still get to have boundaries.

It just means that when I do show up, I’m trying not to send myself through seventeen layers of quality control first.

So if a slightly less edited Rich starts appearing around here…

Please remain calm.

He’s mostly harmless. And apparently needs a bib. 🐻😂❤️

WE’VE GOT AN IDEA…

As The Crystal Bears starts waking up again, we’ve been thinking about what Crystal Bears 2.0 could look like.

We still want to bring you the beautiful, unusual and one-of-a-kind crystals you know us for — that isn’t changing. ❤️

But we’d love to add something new alongside it.

✨ THE CRYSTAL BEARS EXCHANGE ✨

Over the years, loads of us have built pretty impressive crystal collections. But tastes change, shelves get full, and sometimes a piece you once loved just doesn’t have the same pull anymore.

So what if The Crystal Bears could help those pieces find their next person?

We’re thinking about occasionally buying carefully selected collections and special pieces directly from our community.

You could:

💷 Sell your collection to us for cash

OR

💎 Choose a higher value in Crystal Bears credit and put it towards something new.

You’d send us some photos first, we’d give you a provisional valuation and, if you’re happy, we’d arrange the next step.

The pieces we choose would then join our usual hand-picked Crystal Bears stock giving us another way of finding interesting, unusual and sometimes completely unique crystals for you lot.

So this wouldn’t replace what The Crystal Bears has always been.

It would be an extension of it.

New finds. Private collections. One-off treasures. And hopefully a lovely little way of keeping beautiful crystals moving around the community. 🐻❤️

But Crystal Bears 2.0 belongs to all of us, so before we go any further…

Well… that was mildly overwhelming. 😂❤️

I genuinely wasn’t expecting the response to my last post.

After disappearing into my cave for a couple of years, I assumed I’d poke my head back out and about three people would remember me. One of them being James, and frankly he’s contractually obliged. 😂

Instead, I read your comments and realised how many of you remembered the lives and all the absolute nonsense that came with them.

And it genuinely got me. ❤️

I think I’d forgotten that The Crystal Bears was never really just about flogging shiny rocks to people with questionable financial priorities.

It was connection.

I’ve become pretty isolated over the last few years and somewhere along the way I convinced myself I didn’t really need people.

Turns out that was bo****ks.

I missed this.

I missed seeing familiar names pop up. I missed laughing until we completely forgot we were supposed to be selling anything. I missed that weird little corner of the internet we accidentally created together.

So thank you for reminding me it was still here. ❤️

I think this time around I want The Crystal Bears to be a little less crystal seller and a little more connection, laughter and questionable conversations between supposedly functioning adults. 😂

I don’t really care how many people are watching. I just want to switch on a live, see some familiar names appear and think,

“Ahh… there you lot are.” ❤️

Maybe The Crystal Bears was always less of a crystal shop and more of a slightly dysfunctional support group with geodes.

And actually…

I’m quite happy with that. 🐻❤️
