📢 Update on Our AI Receptionist, Emma

Thank you to everyone who took part in our recent survey about Emma, our AI receptionist.

We carefully reviewed all of your feedback. While the results showed that more patients currently have a negative view of the service than a positive one, we have decided to continue using Emma at this time.

This decision has not been taken lightly. AI technology is developing rapidly, and we are already seeing improvements in Emma's performance and capabilities. We remain confident that the service will continue to improve and help us manage the increasing demand on our telephone lines, allowing our team to support patients more efficiently.

That said, we recognise that some patients would prefer to speak directly with a member of our reception team. In response to your feedback, we have introduced a simpler way to bypass Emma and speak to a receptionist.
Just follow the instructions when you ring into the practice.

Please be aware that if you choose this option:

• You will still be asked the same questions by the receptionist that Emma would have asked. These questions help us understand your needs and ensure you are directed to the most appropriate service or clinician.

• Waiting times are likely to be longer, as our reception team are handling calls alongside their other responsibilities.

We appreciate your continued patience and feedback as we work to improve our services and make accessing care as easy as possible for everyone.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

Your local pharmacy is often the fastest route to professional healthcare advice and treatment. Key benefits of utilizing your local community pharmacy include:

Pharmacy First: Access advice and prescription treatments for 7 common conditions (including earache, sore throat, and sinusitis) directly, without needing a GP appointment.

Routine Clinical Services: Get blood pressure checks, oral contraception, and seasonal vaccinations right on the high street.

Expert Clinical Advice: Pharmacists are highly trained medical professionals who can assist with medication management, minor ailments, and lifestyle advice.

Accessibility: No appointments are needed, and many locations offer extended evening and weekend hours.

Utilising these services saves you time and helps reduce pressure on local GP surgeries.
