Calling all KS1 parents at St George’s Primary School! 📣

We’re excited to announce our brand-new after school club, taking place in our newly transformed learning environment- The Learning Lodge, situated within St George’s Primary School. This club is exclusively for Key Stage 1 children who attend St George’s and is designed to provide a little extra support with reading, phonics and maths in a relaxed, engaging environment.

During the sessions, we can:
Provide one-to-one and small group support
Listen to children read and sign reading planners
Support phonics development
Build confidence with maths
Tailor activities to children’s individual interests, needs and abilities
Most importantly- make learning fun!

The club will run every Monday during term time, starting Monday 28th September.

Another update from us 😊

You might have seen on our social media that we’ve been very busy behind the scenes recently, transforming a classroom into a cosy, welcoming new learning environment… and we’re so excited to finally introduce The Learning Lodge, situated within St George’s Primary School!

The Learning Lodge will be an extension of everything we already offer in the forest, giving us a dedicated indoor space where we can continue to provide hands-on, meaningful experiences- including some of the activities that aren’t always possible outdoors.

Monthly Workshops
We’ll be running themed workshops on selected Sundays throughout the year. Each workshop will be packed with fun, practical and creative activities for children to get stuck into. Keep an eye on our page as we announce each new theme!

Group Tutoring- Coming Soon
We’re also planning to introduce small-group tutoring sessions in The Learning Lodge. These will take place later in the evening and will be open to children from all schools in the surrounding area. More details will be shared very soon.

NEW KS1 After-School Club
Starting Monday 28th September, 3:15–4:15pm, we’ll also be running a brand-new after-school club exclusively for KS1 children who attend St George’s Primary School.

The club will have a particular focus on reading, phonics and maths, with a combination of one-to-one support, small-group activities and continuous provision offering lots of meaningful learning opportunities. Whether your child needs help with homework, some extra phonics or maths practice, or simply some encouragement with their reading, activities can be tailored to whatever they need. We can also listen to children read and sign their reading planners.

Most importantly, we want children to enjoy coming to The Learning Lodge. Learning doesn’t have to feel like more school after a long day, so there’ll be plenty of the fun, practical activities we’re known for too! A letter with full details about the after-school club will be coming home to St George’s KS1 families over the next couple of days.

HALLOWEEN CRAFT WORKSHOP 👻

Something spooky is coming to St George’s Primary School this Halloween! 🕷️🧙‍♀️

Join The Wellbeing Collective on 31st October for a fun-filled Halloween craft workshop. This is a drop-off session, so grown-ups can enjoy a little break while we keep the children busy!

During the workshop, children will:

🧪 Mix and create their own spooky potions
🕸️ Explore some wonderfully messy play
🎨 Get creative with Halloween crafts
📖 Settle down together for a Halloween story
🍬 And there might be a few Halloween treats involved too…

Thank you so much to everyone who has reached out following our recent post asking for donations for our Forest School. Thanks to your generosity, we now have a complete mud kitchen and lots of tools and resources to support curiosity, exploration and hands-on learning in the outdoors!

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has donated, shared our post or offered to help. Every contribution is helping us create an exciting space where children can explore, create, investigate and learn through play.

We can’t wait to see our Forest School continue to grow!

Summer has been AMAZING… but very, very busy! ☀️

We’ve filled our summer with lots of lovely trips, days out, celebrations and plenty of family time and now we’re feeling refreshed, recharged and ready for the new academic year!

We’ve got so much planned over the coming months, starting with our woodland workshops 🌳We’re so excited to get back to creating, learning and exploring together.

Behind the scenes, we’ve also got a growing list of resources to create following your requests, as well as lots of personalised work packs to make ready for the new term. 📚✏️

And… we’re in the process of securing a premises where we’ll be able to offer some small group tutoring sessions too! 🤞🏼

So, after a little summer pause, we’re officially back!

Here’s to a wonderful new academic year filled with learning, creativity, confidence, connection and lots of fun. 🤩

WE’RE BACK!

We’re so excited to announce that Wellbeing in the Woods is back! We’ve missed you all and can’t wait to welcome everyone back for our first workshop on Sunday 27th September at our usual venue, St George’s Primary School.

It feels crazy to be writing this already, but we’ll be embracing all things AUTUMN! 😮

As we head into the colder months, we know the British weather might not always be on our side! We now have access to an indoor area so if the weather gets a little too wild, we can bring the children inside for a snack and some cosy indoor activities.

Hi everyone! We hope you’re all enjoying the summer holidays so far! Just a little update from us…

We’ve been a bit quiet recently because August is THE busiest month for us! Between us we have 5 birthdays, 3 trips away, a wedding anniversary, a wedding AND a hen do in Marbella!

In between all the madness, we’re still busy behind the scenes working on some exciting plans for September, including group tutoring, Home Ed sessions and more of our much-loved forest workshops! We’re also still taking orders for our work packs and have recently made some lovely ‘school readiness’ packs- if you’d like to order one just send us a message 😊

We’ll keep you all updated as our plans come together, and we hope to see lots of you again very soon! 😁

We Need Your Help! 📣

Our Forest School sessions have been a huge success, and we’d love to continue growing them with even more exciting resources for the children. As a small local business, our budget is limited so we’re reaching out to our community to see if anyone has any unwanted items they could donate.

We’re looking for things such as:

🍃 Guttering offcuts (perfect for water runs and marble tracks)
🪵 Wooden pallets
🪚 Tree stumps or large logs
🪴 Plant pots and trays
🌱 Seeds, bulbs and compost
🌼 Gardening tools (child or adult size)
🪣 Buckets, watering cans and tubs
🥄 Wooden spoons
🍳 Old pots, pans, baking trays and muffin tins
🫖 Metal tea sets or kitchen utensils
🥣 Mixing bowls, sieves and jugs
🧺 Baskets or crates
🧱 Bricks, paving slabs or large stones
🪨 Pebbles, shells or slate pieces
🚜 Toy diggers, tractors or construction vehicles
🪑 Small outdoor tables or benches
🧺 Plastic storage boxes with lids
🐚 Natural materials such as pine cones

If you have anything else you think could be useful for messy play, den building, mud kitchens, gardening or outdoor learning, we’d love to hear from you! We have a van, so we’re happy to collect larger items if you’re local.

We are so excited about this one!

After our Nature Pizzas Forest School activity, we were asked to create a complete resource package for a local Forest School- and we’ve absolutely loved working on it!

It’s a little different from our usual resources, but we’ve had so much fun bringing these ideas to life that we’d love to create more.
