⚠️ Please be aware of upcoming roadworks affecting access to Harwood Group Practice.

📅 When?
From: Monday 10 August 2026
⏳ Duration: Approximately 2 months

🚧 What's happening?
Hough Fold Way will be temporarily closed between Ashdene Crescent and the entrance to Morrisons Car Park to allow essential waterworks to be carried out.

🛣️ Diversion Route
All traffic will be diverted via Ashdene Crescent. Please follow the signed diversion route.

🏥 Visiting the Practice?
Please allow extra time for your journey if you're attending an appointment during the works.

A lovely surprise at the surgery! 🌸
​We arrived to find that a wonderfully kind member of our community has planted these beautiful pink Dianthus flowers by our fencing over the weekend.
​We aren't sure who this mystery gardener is, but we wanted to extend a massive thank you for your thoughtfulness. It has truly brightened up the grounds and is a lovely sight for anyone arriving at the surgery. It is such a heartwarming gesture!

📢 Important Update Regarding Our Tonge Moor Branch: We Are Open as Usual! 📢

You may notice a 'To Let' sign being put up outside our Tonge Moor branch. We want to reassure all of our patients immediately: we are absolutely not closing, and our services are continuing completely as normal.

What is the 'To Let' sign for?
The facilities management team has placed the advertisement strictly for some of the vacant clinical rooms and internal spaces within the building. This is simply to find other health or community services to utilise the extra space alongside us.

What does this mean for you?

Appointments: Please continue to attend all of your scheduled appointments at Tonge Moor exactly as planned.

Services: Our clinical team, staff, and daily operations remain fully in place and are entirely unaffected.

Contacting Us: There is no need to call the practice to check if we are open; our telephone and digital services remain unchanged.

We know that seeing a 'To Let' sign on a medical building can cause a bit of worry, so we would be incredibly grateful if you could share this post with friends, family, and neighbours in the local area to help us spread the correct information.

Please note that Harwood Medical Centre and Tonge Moor Health Centre will be CLOSED on Bank Holiday Monday.

If you need medical advice or support while we are closed, please use the following services:

✅ NHS 111
For urgent medical advice, medication queries, or if you’re unsure what to do, call 111 or use the online service.

✅ Urgent Treatment Centres / Walk-In Services
For minor injuries and illnesses that cannot wait until we reopen.

✅ Community Pharmacies
Your local pharmacist can help with many common conditions including coughs, colds, sore throats, earache, rashes, urinary symptoms, medication advice and emergency supplies.

🚨 In a medical emergency (such as chest pain, difficulty breathing, stroke symptoms, severe bleeding or loss of consciousness), call 999 immediately or attend A&E.

📅 We will reopen as normal on Tuesday morning.

We’re recruiting!

Harwood Group Practice is looking for an experienced **Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP)** to join our friendly and forward-thinking team.

🩺 **The Role**
Full-time (37.5 hours, Monday–Friday, 08:00–18:30), combining practice-based clinics with home visits to support vulnerable and housebound patients in the community.

💼 **What you’ll do**

* Assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of acute and chronic conditions
* Manage same-day urgent presentations (e.g. infections, minor illness/injury)
* Lead clinical care for housebound patients through home visits
* Prescribe independently and manage full episodes of care
* Request and interpret diagnostics (bloods, X-rays, etc.)
* Work closely within a multidisciplinary team (GPs, nurses, pharmacists, and more)
* Support long-term condition management and prevent hospital admissions

✅ **Requirements**

* Qualified Advanced Nurse Practitioner
* Independent Prescriber (V300) – essential
* Primary care experience with autonomous clinical decision-making
