Pizza-making day was full of fun, independence, and big smiles as everyone got involved in making their own lunch 🍕💛 From choosing toppings to spreading sauce and sprinkling cheese, there was lots of excitement and pride in doing it ourselves. The room was filled with laughter, delicious smells, and a real sense of achievement. The best part? Sitting down together to enjoy the pizzas we made, they tasted even better knowing we’d created them ourselves 😋 It was a joyful, confidence-boosting activity that everyone absolutely loved.

A big shout-out to Danielle for finally getting around to cutting her hair and coming so far. What an amazing moment! ✂️💖 She absolutely loved choosing the style and colour, taking her time to make it just right, and the end result looked fantastic. There were lots of smiles, confidence, and excitement as she saw the finished look. It was such a proud, feel-good moment and a lovely reminder of how far she’s come. 🌟

We all had the most wonderful time celebrating *Lynne’s birthday* at her favourite place to eat, *The Oaks in Westhoughton*. The room was filled with laughter, delicious smells, and happy chatter as everyone gathered around to toast her special day. From tasty starters to mouth-watering mains and decadent desserts, every course was enjoyed with smiles all round. Lynne was beaming with joy, surrounded by friends who made the occasion feel truly memorable. It was a lovely celebration full of good food, great company, and heartfelt moments, a birthday Lynne will always remember. 🎉🎂🎈

At the day center, Easter was filled with warmth, laughter, and creativity as the Lovely Ladies gathered around the tables to paint and gem their eggs. Soft pastel paints, sparkling rhinestones, and cheerful chatter turned the room into a festive spring workshop. Each egg became a tiny work of art, reflecting the personality and imagination of the woman decorating it, from delicate floral designs to bold, glittering patterns. As they shared stories, helped one another choose colors, and admired the finished eggs, the activity became about more than crafting; it was a joyful celebration of togetherness, creativity, and the spirit of Easter.

We celebrated our lovely Elsie’s 97th birthday by taking her out to the garden centre, and it was such a special, heartfelt day for us all. From the moment we arrived, there was so much laughter, a few happy tears, and of course plenty of lovely food shared together. Every moment felt meaningful, simply because we were experiencing it as a group.

Elsie was especially touched by the personalised calendar we had made together. Each page was filled with photos and memories of the beautiful moments we’ve shared, and seeing her reaction reminded us just how important those small, thoughtful gestures are. It meant so much to her to know how cherished she is, and it meant just as much to us to be able to give her something so personal.

We also spent time choosing items for our next project, buying seeds for tomatoes, cucumbers, and other vegetables, along with pots and soil. It felt hopeful and exciting, planting the ideas for something we can all nurture and watch grow together.

It was more than a birthday celebration; it was a day full of connection, love, and shared memories, one we will all hold close to our hearts. 🌱🎂

This week, on Tuesday, we took our beautiful service users to a lovely café in Blackrod. For some, this visit carried deep emotional meaning. It was a place filled with memories of times spent there with her late husband, Ben, and returning brought a mix of comfort, sadness, and reflection.

The journey wasn’t just about the destination—it was about allowing space for feelings to surface and be acknowledged. There were moments of quiet, moments of shared stories, and moments where emotions were felt deeply. As a group, we supported one another with patience, kindness, and understanding, never rushing the process or trying to “fix” the feelings, but simply being present.

By being together, we helped turn a tender experience into one of connection and strength. While the memories of the past will always remain, this visit also became a step toward creating new ones—ones built on support, compassion, and shared experiences. It reminded us that even in emotional moments, we can find comfort in one another and gently move forward together.

Knitting time is more than just cozy fun; it's helping improve fine motor skills, focus, and confidence. A big thank-you to the lovely Barbara, who came in to patiently teach us how to knit and share her wonderful skills with us 💕
