In advance of FREEA’s Preston launch this October, today we’re at Preston Flag Market on World Su***de Prevention Day, standing alongside others to support .

The Blue Shoes Exhibition is a powerful sight 150 pairs of blue shoes representing 150 suspected su***des linked to domestic abuse in the year 2024/2025 (stats available from the mpcc)

Kiena Dawes was just 23 when she tragically died by su***de following prolonged domestic abuse. Today, we’re helping to shine a light on her story and the campaign for change being driven in her name.

As FREEA prepares to become part of the Preston community, it matters to us that we don’t simply arrive in October we stand alongside the community and the conversations that matter now.

The news that PAPYRUS is closing is incredibly sad, but the conversation around su***de cannot stop with it.

Their work helped open conversations that can be incredibly difficult to start. Now we need to make sure those conversations continue.

Keep talking. Keep listening. Keep checking in.

And most importantly, keep reminding people that there are still places to turn.

Heading into the weekend…

For some, Friday brings that weekend feeling.

For others, it brings a different feeling.

It’s opening your phone and having nobody to message.

It’s seeing everyone else’s plans and wondering why nobody thought to ask you.

It’s wanting to go somewhere, but not wanting to walk in alone.

It’s staying home because going out by yourself feels harder.

It’s telling people “I’m fine” when the truth is, you haven’t had a proper conversation with anyone all day.

It’s being surrounded by people and still feeling like you don’t belong.

That’s isolation. And weekends can make it feel even louder.

This Saturday, 5th September, FREEA will be at Leigh RUFC. 🏉

TONIGHT AT FREEA: UNDERSTAND HER

Tonight we’re focusing on Understand Her taking time to understand ourselves, our feelings and the things we carry.

Sometimes we know we’re struggling, but we don’t always know why.

Tonight is about giving ourselves space to explore those feelings without judgement and without anyone trying to fix them.

You can talk, listen, reflect or simply be around other women who get it.

No pressure to share. Just a safe space, a cuppa and women supporting women

Come as you are. There’s space for you.
