HYROX Running: The 9th Discipline - Injury Prevention Exercises

We discuss running as the often-overlooked ninth discipline in HYROX events and demonstrate key injury prevention exercises with Jake. We cover phasic hamstring work to develop explosive, on/off muscle activation, calf strengthening through forward lunges on a step to improve push-off mechanics, runner’s arms for lower limb stability, and single-leg balance drills to prevent knee drop and rotation during running.

🎉 Success Saturday 🎉

Big shout out to for completing Ironman Portugal 70.3 🏁

We have been working with Don for a number of years supporting him with his races and training, a true gentlemen and legend in the world of IM.

This race prep wasn’t the smoothest for Don, a calf injury meant we had to restrict his running to a minimum in the build up.. this is always a challenge for any triathlete 😬😂

Don stuck to the plan which allowed him to stand on the start line and complete the race. Another IM and medal ticked off for Don. Top work 🫡

Big shout out to for his efforts in the Wales Ironman.

Ian put in a solid performance on the day earning him a 9th place finish overall and a 2nd place finish in his AG earning him a spot at the IM World Championships in Kona next year.

Ian has the IM 70.3 World Championships in Spain later this year to round off a fantastic season.

👏 Great effort mate — proof that the results come if you have right mindset and dedication. 👏

🎾 The Padel Elbow Problem 🎾

Ever felt a sharp ache on the outside of your elbow after a long game? That’s “padel elbow” — similar to tennis elbow. It can often be caused by gripping the racket tightly, repetitive swings and a weakness in your shoulder complex.

💡 Prevention tip: Check your grip size, warm up your shoulder and forearms… oh and don’t overdo back-to-back sessions… we know it’s addictive 😬😂

Big moves from this year!

It’s great to see our young athletes developing, working hard on and off the court.

is producing some talented players and it is always a pleasure to support them on their journey.

We have worked with Kjell over the last couple of years while he has been working on a change in grip, this is never easy for a tennis player both technically and physically, but it’s great to see the change and hard work pay off!

Kjell won the Lancashire U16’s singles and the U18’s doubles with his partner Elliot.

It’s also great to see Elliot overcome a couple of niggles this season and get a 🏆 for his relentless hard work.

Great to catch up with today in clinic.

Dave completed the Back Yard Ultra over the weekend.

He absolutely smashed the event completing 162 miles over 40 hours!

Dave finished 2nd overall, a fantastic display of mental and physical strength and endurance.

Dave came down to clinic today for a check over and a recovery sports massage!
