**The “Man Up” Voice in Your Head | The Inner Critic That Tells You You’re Weak**
Have you ever noticed that voice in your head saying:
“Man up.”
“Stop being weak.”
“You should be able to handle this.”
“Don’t let anyone see you struggle.”
Many men grow up hearing messages that emotions are something to hide, vulnerability is a weakness, and needing support means they are failing.
Over time, those messages can become an internal voice that criticises, pressures and shames them.
But that voice is not always the truth.
Often, it is a learned response.
A collection of expectations, experiences and beliefs that have shaped how someone sees themselves.
In this video, I explore:
• Where the “man up” voice can come from
• How internalised beliefs about strength and vulnerability develop
• Why self-criticism does not create lasting change
• How shame can affect emotional wellbeing and connection
• The importance of developing self-compassion and emotional safety
Through the Heart-to-Heal™ Method, I help people understand the patterns, beliefs and experiences that influence how they think, feel and respond.
Because the voice that criticises you is not always the voice that tells the truth.
Healing begins when we stop fighting ourselves and start understanding ourselves.
You do not need to become a different person.
You need to reconnect with the person underneath the pressure, expectations and old beliefs.
If you struggle with self-criticism, shame, anxiety or feeling like you always have to be strong, you can find out more about how I work here:
