Your time to shine Therapy CBT Therapist & Creator of the Heart-to-Heal™ Method 💛 Helping you move from anxiety, overwhelm & self-doubt to healing, self-trust and confidence. Cheryl x

Combining therapeutic support, emotional wellbeing and personal growth to help you heal, grow and thrive. Hello, I’m Cheryl, founder of Your Time to Shine Therapy and creator of the Heart-to-Heal™ Method. 💛

I support individuals who feel overwhelmed by anxiety, overthinking, self-doubt and emotional challenges, helping them understand themselves more deeply, rebuild self-trust and create meaningf

ul change. With qualifications and experience in CBT, counselling, life coaching, hypnotherapy, NLP and EFT, I combine therapeutic approaches with practical tools to support emotional healing, personal growth and lasting transformation. My own journey has shaped the work I do today. In 2018, at the age of 48, I experienced a life-changing breast cancer diagnosis. This became a turning point that encouraged me to reflect on what truly mattered and the life I wanted to create. That experience strengthened my passion for helping others navigate their own challenges, reconnect with themselves and create a life that feels more aligned and fulfilling. Through the Heart-to-Heal™ Method, I offer a safe, compassionate space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions and patterns, while developing the confidence and self-trust to move forward. If you are ready to understand yourself on a deeper level and begin your journey towards healing, growth and transformation, I would be honoured to support you.

**The “Man Up” Voice in Your Head | The Inner Critic That Tells You You’re Weak**

Have you ever noticed that voice in your head saying:

“Man up.”
“Stop being weak.”
“You should be able to handle this.”
“Don’t let anyone see you struggle.”

Many men grow up hearing messages that emotions are something to hide, vulnerability is a weakness, and needing support means they are failing.

Over time, those messages can become an internal voice that criticises, pressures and shames them.

But that voice is not always the truth.

Often, it is a learned response.

A collection of expectations, experiences and beliefs that have shaped how someone sees themselves.

In this video, I explore:

• Where the “man up” voice can come from
• How internalised beliefs about strength and vulnerability develop
• Why self-criticism does not create lasting change
• How shame can affect emotional wellbeing and connection
• The importance of developing self-compassion and emotional safety

Through the Heart-to-Heal™ Method, I help people understand the patterns, beliefs and experiences that influence how they think, feel and respond.

Because the voice that criticises you is not always the voice that tells the truth.

Healing begins when we stop fighting ourselves and start understanding ourselves.

You do not need to become a different person.

You need to reconnect with the person underneath the pressure, expectations and old beliefs.

If you struggle with self-criticism, shame, anxiety or feeling like you always have to be strong, you can find out more about how I work here:

**The Fear of Becoming Irrelevant | What Happens When You Feel Like You’re Losing Your Edge?**

At some point, many men quietly ask themselves:

“Am I becoming irrelevant?”

It may happen during a career transition, getting older, watching younger people come through, experiencing changes in health, responsibilities or circumstances.

On the outside, everything may look fine.

But internally, there may be a fear that something important is being lost.

For many men, identity has been closely connected to achievement, performance, knowledge, being respected or being the person others rely on.

So when those things begin to change, it can create uncertainty:

“Who am I if I’m not achieving at the same level?”
“What is my value if I’m no longer at the top of my game?”
“What does my next chapter look like?”

But your value does not disappear when life changes.

Your identity can evolve.

In this video, I explore:

• Why many men struggle with changes in identity as they get older
• How achievement and performance can become connected to self-worth
• Why losing an old version of yourself can feel uncomfortable
• The importance of creating purpose beyond external success
• How rebuilding your identity can lead to greater fulfilment and confidence

Through the Heart-to-Heal™ Method, I help people understand the patterns, beliefs and experiences that shape how they see themselves, so they can reconnect with who they are beyond their achievements.

Because you are more than your job title.

More than your success.

More than what you have achieved.

Healing is not about becoming someone new.

It is about reconnecting with the person you have always been beneath the roles, expectations and pressure.

**Your Anger Isn’t the Problem | Why You’re Carrying Something Deeper**

If you feel like you are always on edge, becoming frustrated easily, or snapping at the people around you, you may have started to believe:

“Maybe I’m just an angry person.”

But anger is often not the real problem.

Sometimes anger is a signal that something deeper needs attention.

Anger can be a protective emotion. It can appear when we feel hurt, overwhelmed, unheard, threatened, exhausted or when we have been carrying too much for too long.

The goal is not to get rid of anger.

The goal is to understand what it is trying to tell you.

In this video, I explore:

• Why anger is often a secondary emotion rather than the root issue
• What may be sitting underneath feelings of frustration and reactivity
• Why understanding your emotions creates the possibility for change
• The difference between reacting automatically and responding consciously
• How emotional awareness can help you rebuild your relationship with yourself

Through the Heart-to-Heal™ Method, I help people look beyond the surface symptoms and understand the deeper emotional patterns influencing how they think, feel and respond.

Because symptoms are often the messenger, not the message.

Healing begins when we stop asking:
“What is wrong with me?”

And start asking:
“What is this emotion trying to show me?”

If you feel overwhelmed by your emotions, struggle with anger or want support understanding the patterns beneath your reactions, you can find out more about how I work here:

**100 Friends, 0 Real Connection | Why So Many Men Feel Completely Alone**

You can have friends, a career, a family and a busy life…

…and still feel completely alone.

Many men experience loneliness in a way that is rarely talked about.

They may have people around them, group chats, colleagues, social events and friendships, but still feel like nobody truly knows them.

The issue is not always a lack of people.

Sometimes it is a lack of genuine emotional connection.

Many men are taught to connect through activities, humour, work or shared experiences, but vulnerability and honest conversations are often much harder.

Real connection requires more than proximity.

It requires being seen.

In this video, I explore:

• Why having lots of friends does not always mean feeling connected
• Why many men struggle to talk about what they are really experiencing
• How emotional protection can create distance in relationships
• The difference between being around people and feeling understood
• How deeper self-awareness can improve relationships and emotional wellbeing

Through the Heart-to-Heal™ Method, I help people understand the patterns that influence how they think, feel and connect with others.

Because meaningful relationships begin with the relationship we have with ourselves.

Healing is not about becoming someone different.

It is about reconnecting with yourself so you can create more authentic connections with the people around you.

If you feel disconnected, overwhelmed or like you are carrying things alone, support is available.

**I Love My Kids… So Why Do I Feel Nothing? | Understanding Emotional Numbness in Fatherhood**

Many fathers love their children deeply but quietly struggle with something they find difficult to talk about:

Feeling emotionally disconnected.

They may look at their family and wonder:

“Why don’t I feel the way I think I should?”
“Why am I not enjoying this as much as I used to?”
“Does this mean something is wrong with me?”

The truth is, emotional numbness does not mean you do not love your children.

Sometimes, when someone has been carrying pressure, stress, responsibility and emotional exhaustion for a long time, the mind and body begin to protect themselves by switching down emotional intensity.

It is not a sign that you are a bad parent.

It may be a sign that you have been carrying too much for too long.

In this video, I explore:

• Why loving your children and feeling emotionally disconnected can happen at the same time
• How stress and emotional overload can affect connection
• Why many fathers experience guilt and shame around these feelings
• The difference between not caring and feeling emotionally shut down
• How understanding yourself can become the first step towards reconnecting

Through the Heart-to-Heal™ Method, I help people understand what is happening beneath their emotions, recognise the patterns that may be keeping them stuck, and rebuild their connection with themselves.

Healing is not about becoming someone else.

It is about reconnecting with the person you have always been beneath the pressure.

**When Being a Man Feels Like a Performance | The Hidden Pressure Many Men Carry**

No one talks about this enough…

But many men quietly carry a question they rarely say out loud:

**“Am I enough?”**

Not because they lack ability.

Not because they aren’t successful.

But because they have spent years feeling the pressure to be:

✔ Strong
✔ Successful
✔ In control
✔ The provider
✔ The person who always has the answers

For many men, confidence becomes connected to performance.

How much they achieve.
How much they earn.
How much responsibility they can carry.
How well they can handle pressure.

But what happens when life becomes difficult?

When things don’t go to plan?

When they struggle, feel uncertain, or need support?

This is where many men begin to experience shame, self-doubt, and the fear that they are somehow “not enough.”

In this video, I explore the hidden pressure behind the “man enough” trap and why so many men silently struggle with identity, confidence, and self-worth.

You’ll learn:

✨ Why so many men feel the need to constantly prove themselves
✨ How performance pressure can become connected to identity
✨ Why success alone cannot create lasting confidence
✨ How shame and self-criticism affect emotional wellbeing
✨ The difference between healthy ambition and living under constant pressure
✨ How men can build confidence without needing to constantly perform

Through my work as a therapist and creator of the **Heart-to-Heal™ Method**, I support people who are experiencing anxiety, overwhelm, burnout, emotional pressure, and the weight of carrying too much for too long.

The Heart-to-Heal™ Method helps people to:

• Understand the patterns driving pressure and self-criticism
• Process emotions that have been pushed aside
• Regulate the nervous system more effectively
• Build self-trust and emotional resilience
• Create confidence that comes from within, not just from achievement

You do not have to stop being ambitious.

You do not have to care less.

You do not have to become someone different.

The goal is to build a healthier relationship with success, identity, and confidence — so you can achieve without constantly needing to prove your worth.

You’re the person everyone depends on.

The one who solves problems.
The one who keeps going.
The one who stays calm when everything feels difficult.

But what happens when the person holding everything together is quietly running out of energy?

Many high-performing people experience a type of burnout that often goes unnoticed because, on the outside, they still look successful, capable, and in control.

They are still working.
Still achieving.
Still supporting others.

But internally, they feel exhausted, overwhelmed, disconnected, and unable to switch off.

In this video, I explore the hidden burnout that can come from carrying constant responsibility, provider pressure, and the belief that you always have to be the strong one.

You’ll learn:

✨ Why high achievers often miss the early signs of burnout
✨ How constantly providing and supporting others can create emotional exhaustion
✨ Why “just pushing through” eventually stops working
✨ The difference between resilience and carrying too much alone
✨ How emotional pressure impacts your nervous system, confidence, and wellbeing
✨ What helps you recover while still maintaining your ambition and drive

Through my work as a therapist and creator of the **Heart-to-Heal™ Method**, I help people understand the deeper patterns behind anxiety, burnout, overwhelm, and emotional pressure.

The Heart-to-Heal™ Method supports you in:

• Recognising your stress and burnout patterns
• Processing emotional pressure you may have carried for years
• Regulating your nervous system more effectively
• Creating healthier boundaries around responsibility
• Rebuilding confidence, resilience, and a sustainable approach to success

You do not have to choose between being successful and being well.

The goal is not to care less, achieve less, or become less responsible.

The goal is to learn how to lead, provide, and support others without losing yourself in the process.

Have you ever had a thought that frightened you so much that you questioned what it meant about you?

A sudden image.
A disturbing “what if?”
A thought that felt completely out of character.

And then came the fear:

“Why would I think that?”
“Does this mean something is wrong with me?”
“Does this make me a bad person?”

In this video, I explain why intrusive thoughts can feel so real and frightening — and why having an unwanted thought does not mean you want it, believe it, or that it defines who you are.

Intrusive thoughts are a common experience, particularly during periods of anxiety, stress, overwhelm, and emotional pressure. The distress often comes not from the thought itself, but from the meaning we attach to it and the fear that it says something about our character.

In this video, you’ll learn:

✨ Why frightening thoughts can feel so convincing
✨ Why anxiety makes us analyse and question our own minds
✨ The difference between a thought, an intention, and your identity
✨ Why trying to fight or eliminate thoughts can keep the cycle going
✨ How therapy can help reduce fear, regain confidence, and rebuild trust in yourself

Through my work as a therapist and creator of the Heart-to-Heal™ Method, I help people understand the deeper patterns behind anxiety, intrusive thoughts, emotional overwhelm, and nervous system activation.

The Heart-to-Heal™ Method supports you in:

• Understanding your emotional and stress patterns
• Regulating your nervous system more effectively
• Reducing fear around distressing thoughts
• Processing emotions safely rather than suppressing them
• Building self-trust, resilience, and a greater sense of calm

You don’t have to live feeling afraid of your own mind.

# 💛 Introducing the Heart-to-Heal™ Method

The Heart-to-Heal™ Method is the framework that sits at the heart of everything I do.

Many people spend years trying to manage anxiety, overthinking and emotional struggles without ever understanding why they feel the way they do.

The Heart-to-Heal™ Method offers a different approach.

Rather than simply helping you cope, it guides you through a journey of awareness, healing, rebuilding and growth.

Like the lotus flower, healing unfolds one stage at a time.

🌱 **Heart Awareness**

Noticing what is happening within you with curiosity and compassion.

This is where we begin to understand your thoughts, emotions, behaviours and the patterns that have shaped your experiences.

🌸 **Heart Release**

Allowing emotions, patterns and past burdens to move through you and be released.

This stage creates space for healing and helps you let go of what no longer serves you.

🌺 **Heart Rebuild**

Understanding, reshaping and rebuilding from a place of truth and self-respect.

Together we strengthen self-trust, confidence and emotional resilience.

🌼 **Heart Rise**

Taking aligned action and living with confidence, purpose and freedom.

This is where healing becomes part of everyday life, allowing you to move forward with greater clarity and authenticity.

The lotus flower reminds us that growth takes time. Every stage has value, and every step forward matters.

No matter where you are on your journey today, there is hope, and healing is possible.
