Lovely day for a bath and a run, so Meteor had both.
He’s now 4 years old and has grown recently to now be 17hh and so handsome.
Backing beckons once he levels out and it’s sensible to work him.
He’s such a good boy and a credit to Victor Mesnil who bred him.

Beautiful day today, so the newest foals and their mums went out for a play in the fields for a while.
Lots of sleeping and some running around - lovely to see.
Magic and her foal along with Ally and her foal - two c**ts and good friends already.

In the small hours of Wednesday morning, the last foal of the year was born at Clayfaulds.
A lovely c**t foal to Magic - such a good mum - and now we just need to think of a name.

Getting the girls in foal for next year is well underway for the ones who aren’t having a year off.
We will post who’s in foal for next year once a heartbeat scans have been confirmed.

A day away for David today as he was down at the Horse Trust near Princes Risborough helping to deliver the Riding Establishment Inspector Course for the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.

The course was for new and renewing Veterinary Inspectors who have to attend every five years in order to inspect for Councils.

The Horse Trust is a wonderful charity and is the oldest horse charity in the world. Since 1886 they have been providing a landing place for retired working horses, and a loving sanctuary for horses, ponies and donkeys that have suffered severe cruelty and neglect.

Today, David met Guinevere (a rescue pony) and Dinky (a retired King’s Troop horse) - both of whom played the role of a riding school horse for part of the day.

Many thanks to the staff at the Horse Trust and to the lovely horses who are spending their retirements in beautiful surroundings.

So that’s the second last foal of the year on the ground - lovely c**t foal out of Ally Pacino by Leo and Shannon Lorimer’s Maestro.
Born out at the grass and Ally is being a super mum.

Earlier this month we had a visit from some Dutch Horse Students via Oatridge College.
They had time with all the horses, the Percherons were their usual calm selves and happy to show off their foals.

A discussion about breeding and foaling was very enjoyable with many similarities in how we deal with these things in Holland and the UK.

Another lovely sunny day here so Majesté and her foal went out for a run in the school - someone’s trying their legs out and having a small run around!

Last pure foal for the year was born last night - a really nice c**t foal, who looks like he will go black.
Majesté (Majesté de Yevres) foaled herself, passed her afterbirth herself and stood steady for the first feeds- what a star for her first foal.
