Here are our additional sessions for next week: 21-27 September.

It's a bit of a quieter week as both Susie & Phil are away. This has impacted our weekly sessions too, and there's no Chair Yoga on Tuesday morning or Thursday night, no Qi Gong Tuesday morning or Tuesday evening and no Nia Dance either on Thursday night or Saturday morning. Other classes will run as usual.

This week we also have a FREE Wellbeing Walk with Jonny round Callendar Park. Meeting on Thursday 11.15am outside Callendar House - the walk is generally around an hour long.

Friday's FREE Wellbeing Session is Mark Making with local artist Stella McNab: 10-11.30am in Bonnybridge. Straight after that we have a coffee morning, raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support - join Lee for some cake and a cuppa.

Sunday we have sessions on in both centres:
6-7.30pm Kerrie is holding a Rest & Recenter session in Bonnybridge
7-8.30pm: Ali is holding a Sunday Reset in Bo'ness.

What will you come to?

Bookings can be made here - https://bookinghawk.com/events-overview/pause-and-breathe/531 - if you can't find what you're looking for, or would like to come to one of the Sunday night sessions, DM or email me: [email protected]

Energy Advisors from FEL Scotland will be visiting The Place to Pause and Breathe in Bonnybridge on the 1st of October to deliver their tailored energy advice workshop.

The event will begin with a short introduction to FEL Scotland and the Energy Team, outlining the support available to householders, including free home energy advice, home visits, and funding opportunities.

This will be followed by an engaging interactive workshop designed to encourage discussion around home energy improvements and the choices households may face when considering upgrades to their property. Attendees will then learn about key principles for improving home energy efficiency and how available grants and funding can help make improvements more affordable.

The event will conclude with an opportunity for one-to-one conversations with the Energy Team, allowing attendees to discuss their individual circumstances, receive tailored advice, and book a free home visit if desired.

Please do come along - book in here: https://bookinghawk.com/event/pause-breathe-cic/531/free-home-energy-advice-workshop-bonnybridge/61007

We'd love some input about what the local community would like to see.

And so our Spain Retreat begins!

I thought I'd leave you with this beautiful sunrise from one of my early morning walks with Phin this week. It's also been an early start for us today - but I'm sure the journey will be well worth it.

You'll still see lots of posts popping up on here - I've been scheduling away, but we are less available over this week - back to everything next week.

There's still plenty on at both centres - so lots to keep you busy!

What helps you to flouish?

I know that finding cold water dipping for me - over 5 years ago now - is one of the things that help me to flourish. For me, this is all about connection - to nature, to other people who enjoy wild swimming to - but also to myself. Cold water dipping is probably the most mindful activity I've ever done (and that includes meditating!).

Finding things that help us to flourish is really important. But can feel really difficult in our ever-busy lives.

Our next study group book is all about this: "Born to Flourish" by Richard J Davidson and Cortland Dahl. The strapline is "How new science and ancient wisdom reveal a simple path to thriving".

A study group gives us the chance for a deeper dive into a book. For this one, we'll be meeting three times - with sessions being fortnightly, giving us a chance to read in-between!

This takes place online, so is really accessible, and starts on Monday 5th October 6.30-7.30pm.

Friday night.

Maybe the week is done. Maybe there are still things on the list. Maybe you're beginning to think about what the weekend needs to hold.

Now imagine having four nights where there isn't very much you need to do at all.

Our Spring Equinox Retreat next March is designed with plenty of space around everything we offer. There'll be Yoga, Qi Gong, Nia Dance, Mindfulness, Yoga Nidra, creativity and time outdoors – but there'll also be time to read, wander, chat, rest, enjoy the sauna or find a little corner of Balinakill Country House and do absolutely nothing for a while.

One of the pieces of feedback from our retreat this spring was simply:

"It felt spacious."

And I think that sums up so much of what Lisa and I want to create.

Another person told us, "I refound my giggle – it's been a long time since I laughed this much."

Rest doesn't always have to look like lying down. Sometimes it looks like laughing until your sides hurt, sharing food around a table, walking outside, moving the body, or spending time with people where you feel comfortable enough to be yourself.

Many of those who joined us this year have chosen to come back again, and we now have just a few rooms remaining for March 2027.

No rush or countdown from us – just letting you know where we're at, in case you've been thinking about joining us.

Four nights in Argyll, on the cusp of spring. I think it's going to be rather lovely.

Have you come along to something at our Bonnybridge Centre?

We're looking to be a bit more visible on Google, so people can easily find us and find out more about what we do.

If you're been to something and enjoyed it, we'd love to get a Google review from you: https://shorturl.at/owIZq

If you're been to something and it hasn't been as you'd have liked it to have been - please let us know. We are always receptive to feedback.

What would it feel like to arrive at December feeling well rested?

I know that might seem a long way off just now, but I've been thinking about this as I prepare for Resting Into Wisdom, which begins in just a few weeks.

The last few months of the year can become incredibly full. Work, family, darker days, Christmas preparations, social commitments – all arriving at a time when the natural world around us is beginning to slow down.

So I'm inviting you to do something for yourself before all of that.

For 10 weeks, we'll make rest part of our lives. We'll begin by exploring our relationship with rest, before spending two weeks with each of the four stages – Reset, Nourish, Growth and Wisdom.

You'll have Yoga Nidra practices to use at home, shorter rest practices for the days when there isn't as much time, and a rest prescription for each stage. We'll meet regularly to explore what we're noticing and learning along the way.

I've created the programme this way because I want to give rest time to become embedded. To discover what your version of being well rested looks and feels like – and to have practices that you can continue to draw on long after our 10 weeks together.

I believe that a well-rested woman has more opportunity to hear her own wisdom. To notice what she needs. To make choices from a place where there is a little more space.

Resting Into Wisdom begins in October, and bookings are open now.

If you've been reading my posts about this and thinking, I'd really like to do that, perhaps it's time to listen to that thought.

Give yourself these 10 weeks.

I'd love to have you join me. Book in here: https://bookinghawk.com/event/pause-breathe-cic/531/resting-into-wisdom-10-week-programme-online/58464
