Addiction recovery is about so much more than what happens in the therapy room. It’s about helping people rebuild everyday routines that support long-term wellbeing, from reconnecting with their bodies to rediscovering the importance of nourishing themselves with food that strengthens wellbeing.
At Liberty House, our very own Chef Keith plays an important role in this process, preparing fresh, nutritious meals every day while taking the time to understand each client’s individual needs and preferences. Through food, he helps create moments of comfort, connection and confidence as clients begin to develop healthier habits that can continue long after treatment.
With more than 30 years of experience as a chef, Keith describes cooking for people in recovery as the "most rewarding role of [his] career". Seeing clients enjoy a meal they never thought they would try, ask for recipes to recreate at home, or leave treatment with a renewed relationship with food reminds him that recovery is often shaped by the small, meaningful moments that happen along the way.
