Thank you for taking the time to get to know us and the first step to improve your well-being! Indyoga (after my cat Indy) offers group yoga classes & personal 1-2-1 yoga tu

ition for all levels, including yoga for beginners, in Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire and online. We also offer Stand Up Paddle Boarding and SUP Yoga instruction, as well as Usui Reiki Therapy, which all help bring fulfilment, flow state, movement medicine, fitness, joy, mindfulness and relaxation to daily life. Our ethos is to guide you in your journey to wellness in the safest and most rewarding way possible; physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally. We wish to support anyone coming to the mat from injury or social prescribing, to complement existing sports & activities, to welcome a beginner to their first yoga class and encourage existing practitioners to step outside of their comfort zone to journey deeper in their own practice. I have no doubt you will find enjoyment, fun and challenge from yoga & movement as much as the billions of people around the world from this ancient mind and body philosophy as support in a modern world. Way back when I was 17, (over 36yrs ago), I began to train full time at professional dance schools. I sustained a serious back injury early on and I left college after 5yrs without a career path, very little spinal mobility and lower back pain. Instead of pursuing a career in dance and the performing arts I fell in to the frenetic and often stressful, corporate environment of live events. I never allowed my injury to stop me doing what I loved, including trekking high altitude mountains, water skiing to a competitive level and dancing my heels off in clubs. But… there was always something missing from my love of movement & dance and the back pain was constant. In 2011, I was recommended Yoga to relieve my pain and I was hooked! Yoga became my rehab and the injury became manageable. With the chronic pain diminishing as I came off prescription opiates, stopped spinal injections and reduced expensive physiotherapy. Yoga, or even regular functional movement, saved my back from surgery, addictive opiates and lower back pain! This was the missing key to maintain overall well-being and I am now pretty much pain free. I took my Yoga teacher training in 2017 with Tammy Mittell at Real Flow Yoga School, and since then I have completed further trainings to expand my knowledge. Now a 400hr registered Yoga instructor in Vinyasa Flow, Hatha, Yin, Restorative, Senior , Chair and Well Woman Yoga, my approach to teaching is positive & encouraging, fun & inclusive. Whilst supporting you to find the many benefits a regular yoga practice can bring, my teachings embody a balance between physical, mental and spiritual transformation through positive psychology as we introduce ‘Flow State’ to our lives on and off the mat. With over 25yrs years spent slalom water skiing, wakeboarding, wakeskating, wakesurfing, surfing and more recently SUP, it was a natural progression to take Yoga to the water and I am a SUP Yoga and BSUPA Stand Up Paddle Board Instructor. Visit the SUP Page to find out more. Visit our website Indyoga.UK or to get in touch by message on Facebook and I look forward to welcoming you to your mat or SUP very soon. Adrianne

As we step in to the 8th month of the year, we revisit the 8 limbs of yoga as our class theme for the month.

This can cover a lot of yogic philosophy, but it doesn’t have to be complicated. We take what we need from the physical practice, the asana, the 3rd limb, to focus on some of the others in those moments.

Binds… for example are a fun and challenging way to approach Aparigraha, the fifth Yama.

Aparigraha means to release the grip, let go, non-greed, non-attachment. Why binds then? You’re holding on! Because it’s the relief and the sweet bliss of letting go which comes after the bind that you embrace and is your focus…. The letting go part, not the holding on too tightly part!

How does that transfer off the mat to daily life? As Humans we hold on to a lot of stuff. Letting go of possessions, addictions, bad memories, anything that we don’t need, and releasing the grip and not holding on too tightly to something is the lesson we need most!

I’ve got 4 spaces in our Aparigraha binds class this Wednesday evening at 6pm. The only one this week!

Send me a message to book on, or book your space direct at Momoyoga.com/Indyoga

There are worst places to teach on a Friday evening… but when no members book on to your class as you are covering another teacher, do I take it personally?

Not really… But, I’m sad they’re missing out on the signature .school Slow Sacral Lunar Flow following the buck moon this week!

So I’m just going to chill here until the 18:30 class!

🌕 Last nights waning Buck Moon was massive when it rose from the horizon. But by the time I could pull over and view this majestic sphere it already seemed smaller.

🌅 This was taken at 10pm, still some dwindling light in the sky, the North Yorkshire fields full of round hay bales, and a summery warmth in the air.

🧘🏻‍♀️ This evening was a perfect and fitting (almost) end to a busy, but beautiful week of 10 yoga & dance classes (so far), amazing people, gorgeous weather, inspiring conversations and so much more!

🌞 Thank you July! You were jubilantly joyous! 🇬🇧

Four years ago, when I moved to North Yorkshire, I didn’t have ‘friends’ in my industry. I had family nearby, but I’d left behind a wonderfully supportive community of friends and fellow wellness professionals in the South.

Like many people starting over somewhere new, I made a few attempts to build new connections. Some worked, and one in particular taught me a valuable lesson: not everyone in the wellness world is there to genuinely support one another.

Rather than letting one bad experience dampen my spirits, I decided to create the kind of community I had been searching for.

That’s how our Wellness Professionals Network was born.

A community built on collaboration instead of competition. A place where wellness facilitators could find encouragement, inspiration, trusted friendships and opportunities to work together. Since our very first event in August 2024, it has grown into exactly that, and so much more.

One of the very first people I met was Marilee from Marilee R Stonestreet (Mari) | Enchanting Ages. Like me, she was new to the area and looking for her kind of people. From the very beginning, she brought warmth, kindness and authenticity to our community.

Mari shared her wisdom so generously through Kundalini Yoga, and even introduced us to the beautiful Japanese harp that had travelled the world alongside her. She has enriched our gatherings with vast knowledge, energy and an open heart.

Now it’s time for Mari’s next adventure as she leaves the UK to return to the USA, where a new state, new experiences and new connections await.

While we’ll miss her deeply at our events, I’m incredibly grateful our paths crossed. Thank you, Mari, for everything you’ve shared with me and our events. Wishing you every happiness and success as you begin this exciting new chapter.

Safe travels, and we will meet again. ✈️ 🏔️ 🇺🇸
