Two new horse brasses arrived in the post today, Robin Hood and King Arthur.
Plus a stags head that I felt needed to find a home with me.
The two horse brasses will of course be used in divination, with the characteristics of each revealing a strong message.

Approaching Samhain.

The forest endures the first autumn storm,
Greens turns to orange and red and brown,
As the nights draw in our hearths we light,
As nature prepares for the cold winter’s bite.

As darkness approaches in deep thought we dwell,
Visions or memories we cannot yet tell,
Glimpses of past lives or wisdom passed down,
Ancestral secrets are all there in the unknown.

Nature reveals a gateway upon the forest floor,
Above meets below if we just open the door,
From damp musty earth springs hidden life,
Woodland fruit gifts from the old Elphen wife.

The thin veil is here now, for connection we yearn,
To the roots of our history where we all shall return,
Mysteries unfold delving deep into Mother,
Daring you to enter the world of the other.

Very interesting. My article about horse brass divination was published in Enquiring Eye a couple of years ago.
This is exactly right though, the moment you mention talismans, luck, protection, charms, or anything similar to the collectors/experts on horse brasses, they call you crazy and throw you out of groups.
