The HPV vaccine is saving lives.

New research by Queen Mary University of London and Cancer Research UK shows deaths have fallen sharply since school-age girls began being offered it in 2008, and around 200 lives have been saved in England so far thanks to the vaccine.

The vaccine protects against high-risk HPV, a virus that can lead to cervical cancer and some other cancers.

Both girls and boys can get protection from high-risk HPV by having the HPV vaccination in their teenage years. It not only protects against cervical cancer, but other types of cancer too.

You can help protect your child by giving consent for them to have their vaccination when invited.

And remember: cervical screening is still important, even if you’ve had the HPV vaccine.

📢 DNA Appointments 📢

During the month of April we had a total of 144 missed appointments.
These are outlined below 👇🏼

🛑 28 Nurse Appointments
🛑 32 GP Appointments
🛑 25 Blood Tests
🛑 36 HCA Appointments
🛑 23 Other Services - MSK, Physio, Mental Health and Midwife.

We understand that things happen and people sometimes forget or are unable to attend.
However, repeatedly missing appointments without telling us has a serious impact on access for other patients and on practice workload.

By cancelling in good time, you help us offer that appointment to another patient and support safer, more timely care for everyone.

The phone line has continued to have intermittent issues all day.
BT have us on the highest priority, however they are not coming out until tomorrow morning!!

Hopefully we will have a working phone line in the morning but we are unsure so please be patient with us. Unfortunately it is fully out of our control 😏

Tuesday 28th AM 👇🏼

We are currently experiencing a problem with our phone line.

BT came out over the weekend and the fault was supposed to have been fixed but currently we are unable to accept or make calls.

However this fault appears to be intermittent so the line might start working again soon 🤞🏼

We are in contact with the company to get the problem rectified as soon as possible.

We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience. Particularly if this issue persists throughout the morning 🙏🏼

🌼 Practice Managers Day 🌼

Today is the very first National Practice Managers Day (we know, they have a day for everything these days!)

However, we wanted to take this opportunity to celebrate our wonderful manager, Sarah 🥰

She works incredibly hard and really is the glue that holds us all together.

If Practice Managers were flowers, we would definitely pick you 😁

In a world of ever growing and changing workloads, she always gives OLMC her absolute everything - sometimes more than she should!

So we want to take this opportunity to say thank you Sarah for all of your hard work. You are appreciated and we would all be lost without you 🤩
