June is Menโ€™s Health Month, a reminder that looking after your health is just as important as looking after everyone else around you.

Many health conditions can be treated more effectively when picked up early, but too often symptoms are ignored or health checks are delayed.

Simple steps can make a big difference:

We wanted to share some recent figures regarding appointments at Greyfriars surgery.
Over the month of April, we have had a total of 4994 appointments. Out of these, 374 were missed without any prior notice. This has resulted in approximately 93 hours of clinical time being lost, time that could have been used to support other patients.
Missed appointments have a direct impact on the availability of care for everyone. If you are unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer the slot to someone else.

This Stroke Awareness Month, we are reminding everyone how important it is to recognise the signs of a stroke and act quickly.

A stroke is a medical emergency. The sooner treatment is given, the better the outcome.

Remember ๐—™๐—”๐—ฆ๐—ง:
โœ…๐—™๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ โ€“ has the face dropped on one side?
โœ…๐—”๐—ฟ๐—บ๐˜€ โ€“ can they raise both arms?
โœ…๐—ฆ๐—ฝ๐—ฒ๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐—ต โ€“ is speech slurred or difficult?
โœ…๐—ง๐—ถ๐—บ๐—ฒ โ€“ call 999 immediately

Other symptoms can include sudden confusion, vision problems, dizziness or a severe headache.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported our Alzheimerโ€™s Society fundraiser! ๐Ÿ’™

Thanks to the generosity of our patients, staff, local businesses and community, together we raised an incredible ยฃ1,124 for Alzheimerโ€™s Society through raffle ticket sales, donations, and our staff quiz & bingo night.

Every ticket bought, prize donated, and contribution made has helped support people affected by dementia. We are so grateful for all of your kindness and support.

Together, we really can make a difference.
