‘Once in a Blue Moon’
Jody Morrisons Lymphatic Drainage Course was taught for the first time in the UK!
The last weekend in May was an enriching time for our Chi Medics Practitioners.
Two days of connection and exploring, each day brought new insights.
On Saturday I again had the honour to present the material and sequence from Jody Morrison, she is the world’s first person to put Lymphatic Drainage to Reflexology!
Developed over 30 years ago through her Research Project, which always a requirement for Moss Arnolds Chi-Reflexology students, at his Australian College of Chi Reflexology.
She taught her work for many years and when Jody retired in the mid 2000’s she gave the Lymphatic Drainage Reflexology CPD course to us to teach and preserve.
Jody based her work upon Moss’ Anatomical Reflection theory, the release points and the Lymph ‘helper points’ that she learned with Moss as one of his first students in the early 90’s Her own extensive knowledge as a massage therapist with specialisations in Lymphatic drainage combined the theory and practical into a potent sequence delivered through the feet.
It found its way into Sue Enzer’s Maternity reflexology and version can be found in her book.
Our participants found it was logical, effective and easy to deliver. One of the best aspects of Jody’s work is that it is steady, the receiver keeps improving over time.
Sunday was just as interesting, we covered treatment plans, each person gave and received a whole treatment.
I shared the Chi Medics knee technique in detail, including scar work. This was particularly fascinating as some of our practitioners had had knee operations in the past, the techniques were highly successful and showed how easily discomfort and swelling can be assisted.
The afternoon was rounded off with a super upper body balance, a new skill for our Chi medics Practitioners to add to their massive skill set!
It was an absolutely brilliant weekend, thank you to all of our special Chi members for making it so memorable….oh and there was cake, lots of cake
