🐾 Back to doing normal cat things! 🐾

When this lovely boy first started physiotherapy, he was struggling with severe hind limb lameness, which was having a big impact on his mobility and ability to do all those everyday things cats love.

Through regular physiotherapy, focusing on comfort, mobility, muscle function and strength, he has made fantastic progress. 💪🐱

He’s now back to doing his normal cat-like things — moving around comfortably, exploring, jumping and generally getting back to being himself! ❤️

Physiotherapy isn’t just for dogs. Cats can benefit hugely from rehabilitation following injury, surgery or when dealing with ongoing musculoskeletal conditions. Sessions can be adapted to each individual cat and, most importantly, kept calm, gentle and cat-friendly.

Sometimes the biggest measure of progress is simply seeing them get back to doing the things they love. 🐾

After all the stretches, massage, laser therapy, and exercises… it’s safe to say some of my four-legged patients are more than happy to settle down for a well-earned snooze afterwards. 😴🐾❤️

Physiotherapy isn’t just about helping dogs recover from injury or surgery—it’s about improving comfort, movement, and quality of life. Whether they’re living with arthritis, recovering from an operation, managing a neurological condition, or simply needing a little help to stay mobile as they age, every session is tailored to their individual needs.

Some of the benefits of veterinary physiotherapy include:
🐾 Reducing pain and inflammation
🐾 Improving joint mobility and flexibility
🐾 Building strength and muscle mass
🐾 Supporting recovery after injury or surgery
🐾 Improving balance and coordination
🐾 Helping dogs stay active and comfortable for longer

And sometimes… the biggest sign of a successful session is a dog that feels relaxed enough to drift off to sleep. 💤

There’s nothing better than seeing happy, comfortable pups leaving their session feeling their best. ❤️

✨ Mabel’s Journey 🐾

Meet beautiful Mabel, a miniature schnauzer who’s been working incredibly hard following a spinal stroke (Fibrocartilaginous Embolism/FCE). 💜

With a tailored physiotherapy programme including hands-on treatment, therapeutic exercises, and plenty of determination, Mabel has been making fantastic progress every session. Watching her regain strength, confidence and mobility has been so rewarding.

Recovery from a spinal stroke isn’t always quick, but with the right rehabilitation, patience and consistency, many dogs can make remarkable improvements.

Keep going, Mabel – you’re amazing! 🌟

If your dog has suffered a neurological injury or is recovering from surgery, physiotherapy can play a vital role in helping them regain function and improve their quality of life.

Meet Dixie the Toy Poodle 🐩✨

Dixie and her owner has been working hard on managing her luxating patella conservatively, and she’s making fantastic progress. Through a tailored physiotherapy plan focusing on strengthening, mobility, and stability, we’ve already seen a big improvement.

She is skipping far less often, her leg is locking out much less frequently, and her muscles are feeling noticeably stronger 💪🐾

Building strength around the knee can make such a difference in helping support the joint, improving movement, and keeping dogs like Dixie comfortable and active.

Well done Dixie – keep up the amazing work! 💖

✨ New kit just dropped ✨

I’m excited to introduce my stance analyser to Vier Animal Physiotherapy 👀🐾

So… what does that actually mean for your dog?

A stance analyser measures how much weight your dog is putting through each limb while standing. This gives us objective data, not just what we can see with the naked eye.

🔍 Why this is a game-changer for owners:
• Spots subtle lameness before it becomes obvious
• Helps identify compensation patterns (even in the “good” legs)
• Tracks progress clearly during rehab and treatment
• Takes the guesswork out of “are they actually improving?”
• Supports better, more tailored treatment plans

Whether your dog has arthritis, is post-op, or you just know something isn’t quite right — this gives us real numbers to guide decisions and show improvement over time 📊🐕

Because your dog can’t tell us how they’re feeling… but their stance can 💚

Such a good practical day today on my McTimoney training, working hands-on with horses 🐎✨

Really valuable time refining assessment, feeling subtle asymmetries, and seeing how small, precise adjustments can make such a big difference to movement and comfort. Nothing beats learning on real bodies, in real time.

Tired hands, busy brain, and lots to reflect on — exactly how a practical day should be 💭🙌

Ever noticed how some dogs completely switch off during physiotherapy? 😌🐾

Physio isn’t just rehab — it can be deeply relaxing. Gentle massage, laser therapy and slow, controlled movements help calm the nervous system, ease muscle tension, and reduce pain. That’s why you’ll often see soft eyes, heavy heads, deep sighs… even the odd snore 💤

For dogs living with stiffness, arthritis or recovering from injury, relaxation plays a huge role in healing. A calm body moves better, responds better, and feels better.

Those moments when a dog leans into your hands? That’s not just relaxation — that’s trust 💛

✨ Class 3B Laser Therapy – Helping Dogs Heal, Move & Feel Better ✨

Class 3B laser is a powerful, scientifically proven, pain-free treatment we use at Vier Animal Physiotherapy to support dogs with injury, post-surgery recovery and long-term maintenance.

It helps to:
✔️ Reduce pain and inflammation
✔️ Speed up healing
✔️ Improve circulation
✔️ Support mobility and comfort

Whether your dog is recovering from surgery, dealing with a soft tissue injury, or needs ongoing support for arthritis, IVDD or general stiffness, laser can be a fantastic addition to their rehab or maintenance plan, supercharging the body’s natural healing response. Many dogs find it incredibly relaxing too 🐶💤

🐾 Meet Bertie – our lovely black lab, keeping comfortable with physio in his golden years 🐾

Like many dogs as they enter their senior years, Bertie has started to feel the effects of arthritis. Stiffness, reduced mobility, and a little slowing down are all common signs – but they don’t have to mean a poor quality of life.

Through regular physiotherapy, Bertie is supported to stay as comfortable, mobile, and happy as possible. His sessions focus on:
• Reducing pain and stiffness
• Maintaining muscle strength
• Supporting joint mobility
• Improving overall comfort and confidence in movement

Arthritis is a progressive condition, but with the right management, dogs like Bertie can continue to enjoy their walks, their naps in the sun, and their time with family. Physiotherapy plays a huge role in helping senior dogs stay active and comfortable for longer, rather than waiting until they are really struggling.

Bertie is a perfect example that ageing doesn’t have to mean giving up – it just means adapting and giving a little extra support 💛

If you have an older dog and are noticing stiffness, slowing down, or difficulty with everyday activities, physiotherapy can make a real difference.
